The name of the compilation is: THE MICMAC RECORDS/HOT 97 CONCERT and it features remixes that were not available on the 12" singles...This album is definitely a classic and if you ever see it again, do not hesitate to pick it up!

1. FANTASY GIRL - Johnny O.
2. TOUGH ME WITH YOUR HEART - Eileen Flores
3. GAMES OF LOVE - Tonasia
4. FIRST TRUE LOVE - Tiana*
5. MATERIALISTIC GIRL - & More
6. THEIF OF HEARTS - CYNTHIA
7. CRYING OVER YOU - Soave
8. TRY YAZZ - Two Without Hats
9. DON'T MAKE ME PROMISES - Maribell*

(* = Radio Mix from the 12" single)

Here is a little side note, for some reason the Remix from the Concert album of "GAMES OF LOVE" by Tonasia was featured on MICMAC'S GREATEST FREESTYLE HITS, VOL. 2 instead of the original version from the single.

Back when it came out, i was able to find this album on the streets of NYC for a mere $2, a boot of course. it is a great album and as Rhoq said, if you ever see it again, do not hesitate to pick it up!

I can't find it anymore! I also want the one from WARLOCK i think it's POWER 106.FM (or something like that)

if you have high power mega party mix vol. 2 then there should be an order form on the inside cover and thats where you can get power 106. as for the othercd i cant find it anywhere

here's another good one

One of my favorite cd's probably cause it was at the start of my cd collection way back.... back into time is
Power 96 The Mic Mac Concert
Cynthia-Thief of Hearts
Johnny O-Fantasy Girl
Eileen Flores-Touch me with your Heart
Soavé-Crying over You
Tiana-First True Love
Tonasia-Games Of love
&More-Materialistic Girl
Maribell-Don’t make me Promises
2 w/o Hats-Try YAZZ
This cd also has 2 different versions not found on vinyl at least I don't recall them being on mine. Two different ones are Fantasy Girl and Games of Love.

"led me to believe that your love was there
but I could see that you really didn't care
You made me shed tears that I felt in my heart
but pratically girl you played that role from the start"-Tonasia "Games of Love"(True untouchable Freestyle) :blah to all who oppose

You are forgetting that "THEIR OF HEARTS" by Cynthia is another remix that is very different from the 12" single.

Micmac must have released the album regionally for each major dance station.

Here's a story...
Rhoq is right on with the answer...

Here's the take that I heard about some of the MICMAC remixes from the artists themselves...The strange sounding remixes were created after the artists parted ways with the record company. They were finally freed, but the original music was owned by MICMAC. So before an artist like Cynthia made noise under Timber/Tommy Boy, the remixes were released to capitalize on her name, with Cyndi receiving nothing in return. Tonasia has told me the same tales.

Johnny O can also tell you some cheesy tales of musical mayhem-when he left the label, they had some fun with his music...and his life!

The HOT 97 album is actually quite good...at the time, Al Banderas was a huge Freestyle supporter...

Harv

The MICMAC CONCERT album has the catalog number of MIC-1203

For those familiar with Micmac's album releases they know that the 1200 series was used on their 1989/1990 album releases. They began using the 1400 series in 1991 (beginning with Cynthia II and Johnny O's "LIKE A STRANGER" albums).

If I remember correctly, the Micmac concert was released in 1990.

If Harv's story is accurate, then something is very wrong here...As these dates mean that the Concert album was released way before any of these artists left the label!!!
