For you Canadian Hockey fans, what you guys think of the bad financial situation of The Ottawa Senators being broke? The players have not been payed for god knows when!!! Looks like I see Contraction and a strike in The NHL real soon.

well im not a sens fan...but seeing wuts going on isnt encouraging...it makes me think...where is all that money going...rumours say the team maybe sold after this season...if that happens that means it will probably be bought by an american team meaning the loss of yet another canadian hockey team which isnt a good thing for us...we have lost a lot of teams (nordiques/jets) so yeah its not a good thing...especially for the team representing our countries capital...and they havent been around that long yet have had amazing playoff runs...its sad cuz if it could happen to a team like ottawa then how about the weaker canadian teams...

Not a good situation. It's starting to say that US League teams can't work in Canada due to the dollar value in Canada. There are too many teams in the NHL in cities that don't need them. Atlanta, Nashville and Tampa bay don't need NHL teams!!

very true mike and then u got cities that really should have one and dont...like winnipeg...and some on the east coast but with the habs and leafs being the big canadian teams theres really nothing u can do...

Well, even if you are not a Sens fan but are a Canadian hockey fan, you know that this is truly a sad situation to see once again.. Ottawa is on the verge of losing it's team to the States, just like the Jets and the Nordiques.... Hockey is Canadian and a team like Ottawa should forever remain in Canada, we cannot afford to lose another GREAT Canadian team. The Sens are the best team in the NHL this year and have a good shot of going far this season. I know that if the Sens go to the states, they will end up in a non-hockey city like Nashville, Colombus or Carolina... these are cities where people don't even know what hockey is and therefore should not have a team. The bottom line is however, it all comes down to money in the end.... where are the millions $$$$ going from Ottawa??? who knows! another important factor to keep a team alive in this country are the fans (ticket sales)... the Sens are the best team in the league this year and still do not sell out every game, as for our beloved leafs, EVERY SINGLE GAME is sold out! even standing room! even if the leafs have a bad season! Toronto has amazing Fans! i mean i was at the Toronto Rock (Lacrosse)game yesterday and there were 18,000 fans in attendance.. it was sold out! the Raptors sell out as well! i mean the fans really help a team stay alive as well. All i can say is that losing the Sens would be another big shock to the Canadian hockey world and a huge dissapointment for Canadian hockey fans like myself. I truly hope that the Sens work out their financial problems and remain in Ottawa for a very long time, our Canadian teams have to show these American teams what hockey is all about!

Hockey needs a salary cap or higher profit sharing or many teams will have to be contracted or relocate. But the good news is there is a company that is planning to buy The Senators.

well i heard that baseballs montreal expos will now be relocated so that means the jays will be the only canadian team like they already r the only b-ball team

The 1994 Strike is what hurt Baseball in Canada. In 1994 you could not get tickets for a Blue Jays game. Now I don't even think Z103.5 can even give them away!! In 1994 people in Monteral was finally starting to watch The Expos. Now, Montreal don't even want them. Only 5000 or less care for the Expos!!LOL. It's sad that Hockey is getting in bad shape. The deal is, people go to see it, but nobody watches it on TV. And Canadian teams have to pay lots of players in trades with American teams the salaries in American Dollar values. That's one of the big problems.

well after the jay won back to back things just fell apart cuz palyers left and people expected champs
