Oh man...I've seen it all here in NYC :lol

Ok.

I have seen the homeless people on the streets, and they have their signs on cardboard that say things like "Will work for food" or "Homeless Vet, help me" and stuff like that.

One time, I was walking down one of the streets, and I see a guy in a business suit, and he is yelling at some homeless person on the street, who was sitting on the sidewalk with a sign in front of him.

When I got to the guy, I read the sign, which said

"Tell me off-$2.00"

Only in NY!!!!!

I've got two....the first one was this well groomed guy in a business suit, and HE was panhandling on the subway! The other one was on the 6 train, I think it was around Christmas '94, and this homeless guy came into the car, and said he wasn't going to beg, but sing for money instead. At the next stop, this guy with a sax comes on at the other end of the car and starts playing! So at one end we have a guy singing, and at the other end the sax guy is drowning him out! The homeless guy gets off the train and it leaves the station, and you see the homeless guy out the window giving the sax guy the one finger salute! Made everyone laugh!

OMG for having lived so close to the city all my life and for having many relatives there, I've been so few times. My 1st time in the city alone though was quite an adventure. I was 18, and coming up from college in Richmond to go to my sister's wedding. Well the Amtrak came in 3:30 in the morning, and the LIRR didn't leave until about 6. This was in January of 1995, and my brother forgot to warn me that the homeless would be there. First I'm sitting near where you buy the tickets for the LIRR and this guy about 2 feet away from me starts leaking. I'm looking up for a ceiling leak at first til I realized which pipes were actually leaking. Eww, only in New York. I leave to walk around after a while and I notice some guy staring at me. He then approaches me and apologizes and says I look like his sister, who had died two years earlier....Okay, felt kind of bad for the guy til wait... he decided I WAS his dead sister.:yoomg...only in NY. So I went to the Dunkin Donuts well because it was full of cops...only in NY. By then, I had the tickets and my brother was there to meet me. I look back at Manhatten and say to my brother "Wow, they're gonna have a huge storm" and he says "it's the smog, you idiot" hehehe. Damn, I love NY. I swear everytime I go into NY, something crazy happens.

The best homeless person sign I saw was in front of the Much Music building here in Toronto

"buy you're good Karma for today..."

OMG! LMAO @ the fried chicken place! When I was in college, there was something similar a few blocks from Washington Square Park, It didn't have lotto, but it was fried chicken and burgers, liquor, cigarettes and adult entertainment. When I saw that at first I just stopped and went "huh?" then when I was telling one of the girls in my class, she was telling me it was normal. WTF? LOL Place didn't last though, within six months it became something else. But yeah...deff only in NY.

i never been to New York before, but i wanna visit there one time, its sound too interesting to miss. but just been to California and Toronto.
