<<<<<I love Information Society too. I also, unlike many others, believe they are a freestyle group<<<<<

I totally agree with you and I had this argument with my friend over them. He's new into freestyle so what the hell does he know lol.Anyhow, their song "running" has been sample by clear thgouch on "fallen angel" and the better known "i'll be loving you" by collage and mind you the song itself sounds along the lines of silent morning which no one would deny is freestyle. The also had "think" and "whats on your mind".It's like depeche mode doing freestyle if you ask me.

I agree 100%. People can't understand that it is possible for an artist/group to be doing freestyle without actually meaning to do that specific type of music. Information Society are originally from Minnesota. Their hit "Running" was originally on the label Wide Angle (Minnesota based). That song came out in 1985 NOT 1986 as stated on the Tommy Boy label). Now, on the back of the original cover from Wide Angle, the producer of the song, Paul Schwitters, is quoted as saying "Disco Will Never Die!" He thought he was doing a mid 80's disco song (which he was....all dance music is an offspring from disco). Anyway, it IS a freestyle song....that quote proves that they were thinking DISCO (aka dance).....NOT some "alternative new wave" song.

the first SOCIETY album is a classic and a must have for all freestylers...if u cant find it burn it!!!!

I saw Lime at the very first Beatstock in Brooklyn...I thought it might be the original members because the girl's voice sounded like the real thing. But anyway, I agree with what you guys said about not liking these imposter groups...there is nothing like seeing the original artists singing the original songs. I heard a club ad last weekend saying that Seduction was performing at a club somewhere...well, we all know it wasnt the original Seduction!!!
