The Gay Lord of Freestyle
Last night I picked up the new Kevin Aviance cd "Entity".
If you don't know, Kevin is a drag/gay performer, and KTU was all over his song "Give It Up". The chorus goes like this:
So give it up/I know you like it
You'll get addicted fast/wait till you try it
So give it up/cause I'm shaking it
And turn the music on/while you blow me
blow me away
So, I'm looking at the cd booklet for the credits, and it turns out that Tony Moran co-wrote 3 of the songs on the cd, as well as the cds excutive producer.
In Kevin's thank you section, this is what he says to Tony:
"Thank you for your technological guidance. I still don't understand why you wouldn't let me do a free style record on this album."
So, should we be angry that a freestyle pioneer talked a new artist out of trying freestyle. or should we be happy that a new artist was open to trying a freestyle record?
