Christmas is around the corner...........for all those that have to buy gifts for children, being 1 yr old -10 yrs. what kind of gifts do you think are appropriate for them. I have a 5 yr old and I need ideas. Sometimes, I don't like to go by what he likes because that's EVERYTHING. He takes the "Big Toy Book" from Toys R US that's given in the Sunday paper and circles all the boy toys. :lol

So basically what kind of gifts do you buy for almost any age group? Like for spouse, children, teenagers, Moms, Dads, Grandparents, etc., etc., etc.......... 😀

My son (5) wants everything in the "Big Toy Book"... he especially loves the matchbox cars and action figures (spiderman, batman). He and his sister (10) are huge video game lovers.. we have Gamecube and gameboy advances.. so they want all the latest games!

My daughter (10) is growing out of toys - even though she still loves Bratz! This year she wants clothes - all designer clothes. She has a list for me already! ex: Eco Red Jeans and shirt, BabyPhat bag, Ugg Boats, NorthFace Jacket... my little girl growing up to fast .. she's costing me a fortune! 😀

Well this year my kids are getting entertainment centers for thier roo. New tv's. sterio's and dvd.Matthew, my ten year old like games, cars and clothes. Amy my 8yr old likes clothes, shoes, play make up and dolls. Lil man, my 4yr old is still in just toys. But i also make it point to buys books and dvd's. Now if your just buying for kids of all ages, movie certificates are good and so are gift cards.

🙂

hahahaha my kids circle every page in that book!!!!! :lol we're thinking of just getting them one or two big toys each instead of 185 little toys.... we gotta turn our house upsidedown & shake it all out at some point first....... :bangbang

I sooooo know what you're talking about Sietz.......... There are so many little toys here since like "birth", that I still don't know how to get rid of them because he catches me. Then he gets upset. So big toys sounds better. 😀

i totally hear ya labetty, it's so hard to get rid of that stuff... sometimes me & kim focus on it when we clean & we make a keep pile, a throw out pile & an ebay pile.... funny the keep pile always ends up the biggest..... 🙂

I know exactly what you mean. But then, at least here, it looks like I did nothing. Like I didn't get rid of anything. And that's so aggravating.

Girl, she's only 10?????? Man they get younger and younger wanting designer things. My daughter just started with the designer things when she turned 13. Now she's 15. But teenagers are expensive as hell.

Well, when it comes to the gifts I give, I want them to be personal, and unique. I search until I get a "feeling" about the gift I'm gonna give.

Here are some examples:

Last year when my Mom's Mom died, Mom took a set of dishes from Gram's house, but it was missing pieces. I found the missing pieces on ebay and gave them to her.

My friend Cor loves "Little House On the Prarie". I found an autographed cast photo on ebay and got it for her.

My buddy Scott loves "Sex & The City" and last year, I got him an autographed cast photo of the 4 stars on ebay.

My friend Tina loves "Gone With The Wind" and I found a huge "throw" depicting a scene from the movie to give her.
