UPDATE: I read in the NY Post today, that the slain cop refused to die until they caught his murderer. After they caught the murderer, he passed away in peace. Interesting, isn't it? Hell I'd do the same shit if someone shot me like that, make sure their asses are caught.
 
The whole thing is just so sad. It bothers me that he had on a bullet proof vest, but it wasnt enough to protect him. And what bothers me even more is how easy it is for people to have guns! And kudos to the dcotor who tried to save his life, for speaking up about the gun problem on TV right in front of Bloomberg! And how ironic is this? The cop lived in Elmhurst, Long Island and they were interviewing his neighbors on TV...and I knew one of them! He seemed like a really good guy who was dedicated to his job...my heart goes out to his family.

The fact that he REFUSED to die until his killer was caught, I found that so interesting. For someone that could hold on a little longer until they caught that bastard before the officer finally expired, that was truly something. Still can't get over that.
 
this is so sad & messed up.... :sosad I remember when officer Gerard Carter was killed a few years ago on Staten Island... he was a friend of mine from school... there were hundreds of NYPD at his funeral, the unity was an amazing site to see.....
