Just wanted to let people know the song "true love" by Nyasia thats in the smash or trash was produced by Willie Valentin and me (randy taylor-weber) East coast meets west coast baby !! this is what its all about UNITY so people please take the time and vote on the song !! peace ,randy

Well...

I had stopped checking out "Smash or Trash" over the past few months...The last time was when Julissa's song was featured...The only reason I checked out "TRUE LOVE" is because Nyasia sings it.

I am sorry to say that I am very disappointed.

Nyasia, your voice sounds great...but the actual song feels like a Galaxy Freestyle song (Randy, I am not trying to down you in anyway - you have done a lot for Freestyle on the West Coast. I think your productions are getting better as each year passes by).

Overall, the song sounds like something that should have been included on Galaxy Freestyle 2 - but definitely not the upcoming Artistik Recordings FREESTYLE PARADE 2K1...The song doesn't have the Artistik feel to it. I wasn't able to hear any of Willie Valentin's style shining through at all (except in Nyasia's vocal arrangement)...

Some people feel that I am too critical, but I feel as though it better to be honest...If I don't like something I am entitled to my opinion/review just as everyone oelse is entitled to theirs....
 
Hey rhoq thats cool. We all have our opinions. But I did about 50 % exactly on the production. I am glad you didnt hear my usual style of production. thats what i wanted. I wanted to do something and people not know i had anything to do with it. Sorry you didnt like the song. maybe you'll like the remixes on the single. p.s. i wrote it as well. I dont consider myself a writer but i do manage to write songs when i have the time. LOL

When will PARADE 2K1 be dropping? I have always been a fan of the FREESTYLE PARADE series and it has been too long since VOL. 4
 
hey rhoq i didnt do an old school mix for the new nyasia. as far as edits go. I did do multi edits on the mix available here on the smash or trash mix. did u hear those? Parade 2k1 is done and i am awaiting the clearance for the TKA track. i am hoping for a mid march release. right now we are finishing up the video end of it for the enhanced cd part of the cd.
 
sorry guys & nyasia, but i didnt like her new track. Poor production, it sounds cheap. and thats the type of sound that helped bring freestyle down.
 
I love NYASIA

I like Nyasia's new single, it has a new sound and her vocals are great. Yes it does have a west coast feel , but it also has a few samples for that " I 've fallin and I can't get up" from Now and Forever and some horns taken from "Who's Got your love" but Willie I hope you will have a version for us east coast, with your amazing multi edits and hard NY beats... the stuff you do to Synthia Figueroa songs.. This is still a smash.... But My all time favorite NYASIA is " I Feel The way " and Now and Forever, Don't wast my time and who's got your love" the Maimi bass mix)..

Wow this is pretty interesting !! some of the people that i thought would slam me didnt , and some who i thought would said something cool .. But Rhoq dont worry, your criticism just makes us more knowledgable about what kind of ideas to use .. Fernando thanks for the kind words .. This song does have that "pretty" type a galaxy sound, but thats kinda what i wanted to hear in Nyasias voice, something like "now and forever" .and thanks to everyone for their opinions, seriously .. peace, randy
 
Willie, I just downloaded the stream once again...When I first heard it this morning my stream kept breaking up - I am hearing things now that I couldn't really hear that well earlier (like the strings between the first chorus & 2nd verse)...I also wasn't able hear the "WHO'S GOT YOUR LOVE" & "NOW & FOREVER" samples too clearly...I honestly thought that the edits weren't edits but just a bad connection!!! LOL

Now that I can hear the song more clearly I was able to hear the samples & edits. I still think that an Old School Mix with a lot of strings and multi-edits would make this track kick some serious ass. I still think this version sounds too "Galaxy"...
 
Hmmm, sounded more like Willie Freestyle Mania than Randy Galaxy to me. Maybe the choice of bass and that Planet Rock "dink" is Randy's touch. I didn't Smash or Trash it. I couldn't really judge the production on the poor sound quality of the Windows media stream. But, from what I can tell, it sounded pretty average. Relative to the Parade Vol. 3 and 4, which I love, it was easily below average. Sorry, I like songs from both you guys and Nyasia, but this is my first impression of this particular song.

Willie, I hope you didn't lose too much of those Old School and Hip Hop elements in your beats you had before on the other tracks on 2K1.
 
Rhoq u didnt hear the edits too good i guess. Too Galaxy? I hope!!! Randy sells much more cds than I do. Its a new style to me. Galistik Records... LOL
