I hear a lot of talk about us freestyle peeps liking trance and progressive house and other types of music, but does anyone on this board like Latin House, I mean latin house to me is part of the whole freestyle scene, I mean two in a room, 2 w/out hats, and countless others did some phat latin house and till this day Norty Cotto is still keeping it alive....He also produced some freestyle tracks from my understanding....does anyone agree that freestyle and latin house have something in common besides some of the artist being latin, what do you think makes it similiar or not...would like to hear some feedback...peace......

basically latin house has always been my thing... i was never too crazy about 2 in a room but i do like what c&c music factory put out and all the latin house that preceded it like :

el cantor: toma
selina: she had a remix can't remember the name
tito puente junior: oye como va
rivera ocean feat india: love and Happiness

and alot of great remixes that junior vasquez put out their are so many i can't remember off the back all of the titles or artists...but latin house shook the floor when i went clubbing and it could still shake the floor today.

Yeah, I love latin house.....it's the only other music I still have other than freestyle now (records). Norty Cotto wrote "When The Pieces Fall" by Yolanda Milla.....slammin' song!! ( 1 out of many). Alot of people are overlooked for one reason or another. Someone mentioned Rob Federici on another thread. When do you ever hear his name??? Yet, he's got his hands involved in so many freestyle productions. Oh well....at least some of us recognize and remember!!

I like some of it!

I'm not a fan of House Music, but I picked up the Tito Puente Jr. CD Oye Como Va in Philly at Tower Records (with all the remixes), and I really liked some of the versions. Some sounded more like Dance to me than House.

word..

I have and love Latin House...haven't seen much releases lately though. but that's the shizzzznit!! bangin' beats and the samples blend in and pump up the volume!!

peaceouttie,
daBigM..

BIG MARC I AGREE W/ YOU REGARDING THE BEATS AND SAMPLES, IT MAKES YOU WANT TO DANCE EVEN IF YOU DONT DANCE, BUT I AM HAPPY TO SEE THAT PEOPLE DO LIKE LATIN HOUSE, HOPEFULLY IT WONT PHASE OUT.....
