Everyone likes the classic christmas songs....."Frosty", "Rudolph" and all the rest.

How about newer songs????

Normally, I'm not into the newer songs that contemporary artists put out, prefering to listen to the classics......but there are three songs recently I've been listening to that have become faves of mine.....

Mariah Carey-"All I Want For Christmas Is You"

Faith Hill-"Where Are You Christmas?"

Kelly Clarkson-"My Grown Up Christmas List"

Kelly's song has been done before by other artists, but I've never heard it before, the lyrics are sooo good.

Do you remember me? I sat upon your knee;
I wrote to you with childhood fantasies.
Well, I'm all grown-up now, and still need help somehow.
I'm not a child, but my heart still can dream.
So here's my life-long wish, My grown-up Christmas list.
Not for myself, But for a world in need.

No more lives torn apart, that wars would never start,
And time would heal all hearts.
And everyone would have a friend, And right would always win,
And love would never end.
This is my grown-up Christmas list.

As children we believed, The grandest sight to see
Was something lovely, Wrapped beneath our tree.
Well Heaven surely knows, That packages and bows
Can never heal, A hurting human soul.

No more lives torn apart, That wars would never start,
And time would heal all hearts.
And everyone would have a friend, And right would always win,
And love would never end.
This is my grown-up Christmas list.

What is this illusion called the innocence of youth?
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth.

No more lives torn apart, That wars would never start,
And time would heal all hearts.
And everyone would have a friend, And right would always win,
And love would never end, oh.
This is my grown-up Christmas list.

This is my only life-long wish.
This is my grown-up Christmas list

So what about everyone else? what are some of your newer faves????

I ain't into Mariah Carey like that anymore but I do like her Christmas song especailly when I'm in work & that's all that plays on the radio, hers is an upbeat song.

I loved Mariah's song since it first came out and it remains one of my fave Christmas songs ever!

Randi (FreestyleGal)

Mr Garrisons Merry f'n xmas
Kyle's a lonley Jew on xama
Eric Cartmans o holy nite

remember when the song "grandma got run over by a reindeer" first came out?

who would have ever known we would be hearin it till this day!

OMG Kenny we have this stuffed reindeer & when you press it's ear it sings the damn Grandma got ran over by a reindeer song...ughhhhh I have to hear ALL the time cuz my son stay pressin it & sings it

The ultimate Christmas albums are The SalSoul Orchestras'. That's all I play during the holidays. It brings me right back to the late 70's and early 80's when the family used to throw some kick-ass parties.

I do like Mariah's album, especially "All I Want For Christmas".

And, another great holiday track is that dirrrty slut we call Christina Aguilera. "This Year" is an awesome song. What a voice! And the song itself is bangin' too.

Can't forget the album, "Fiesta En Navidad".

Oh! And I will buy Whitney's new holiday album because her voice is unreal. I can see her in the studio now, smokin' her crack pipe, blowing a few lines...."Oh look Bobby! It's snowing! No you dumb !@#$%, it's the coke coming outta your nose! Hallelujah!"
