The way it usually works with KTU is that they always ignore freestyle acts for the Miracle show. They even ignore some of the underground dance acts that they actually do give radio play to (Reina, Tina Ann, etc.) The Miracle on 34th Street show is usually more about bringing the more mainstream top 40 acts to the stage. I don't know why they do that since Z-100 uses the same format for their Jingle Ball. I guess what it comes down to is that the show is usually produced by David Gest and he only wants acts that are mainstream. He is not interested in booking people who might be dance music favorites but do not have a certain level of current commercial success.
