The Jammin Oldies formats have been dissapointing. Thats why in Miami; Mega1035 is playing more recent stuff so they won't go off the air.

I read a radio report talking about how Jammin Oldies stations haven't been popular like expected. The ratings have been very dissapointing because Hot AC and Urban Adult stations are beating them out. No Kenny, you not feeling old, that was the facts I read. Radio has been sucking period!!
jammin 105 wasnt even jammin oldies before they went off the air..they kept the jammin moniker but they were really urban AC...another version of let's say..kissFM. The jammin format, especially in NYC, failed because of the playlist- It wasn't wide enough. They could have expanded into the 80's/early 90's but clear channel figured they'd go for the large piece of the pie..hot97. Hot97 does have loyal listeners but power now has ed lover and dre. The hip hop audience has made moves down the dial before...back and forth between kissFM and BLS...then when hot97 abandoned dance...most hip hoppers made the switch to hot97. There is LOTS of speculation goin on with the whole NY radio dial itself..people are saying that emmis may take kissFM and throw it dance....or inner city take BLS, and make it dance or urban AC. If clear channel was smart..they have their own fate in their hands...they now OWN a hip hop station...a lite station...a top40/chr station..and a supposed 'dance' station. Give KTU some friggin direction and make it FULL FLEDGED DANCE. They have the biggest formats covered..now put some direction into them!!

thats 4 stations, presumably "FM" stations. lets not hope that happens because the law prohibits a company to own more then 3 FM stations and 1 AM station at one time. so, if LITE MUSIC comes in, KTU will be out because they arent going to put music on the AM dial again!

true true. of all the clear channel stations, ktu probly plays the most dance by far. nyc is lucky to have a CC station playing that much dance. the only props i give CC is that at least CC will allow for the best type of dance music to be played (freestyle!), unlike some of the other companies like Cocks, which is very friendly to dance music, but not so much to freestyle. they have a few dance stations, but for stations that play dance music, they should have more freestyle than they do.
