In my family we have a few New Years Eve traditions....Right before the clock strikes midnight ....

1) money in our hand = meaning we'll always have $$ in the new year.

2) Grapes = 12 for each month in the year; always have something to eat in the new year.

3) Glass of Champagne for the toast!

4) We have Dick Clark's Rock-n-Eve on the TV!!!

And some embarrassing ones, which I will not mention!! :lol

But always be with family ~~ a huge kiss and hugs to all!!!

After all the crying and best wishes....:dancingb its TIME TO PARTY & GET DRUNK!!! :cparty

Does your family have any traditions for New Years Eve???!! What are they?!

Last year I worked a double shift 2pm til 6am During the night shift I played playstation the entire night

sounds like somethin i will do play ps2 not such a big thing anymore to me new years . Dick Clark still looks the same the ball has been changed more then the wig he wears unless thats his real hair .

I bust a coconut at midnite on the floorpieces up good luck pieces down wear a frown

I really haven't started any traditions: but to go to someone else's house.... but it's usually stay home and wait for the ball to drop- and go to work the next day

Shhhhhhhhh I know my grandma gonna wanna do a limpiza since im in a new house for the new year....
So.....I know Im gonna have some explaining to do in my sons communication log between me and my sons speech teacher after the xmas break......"Mrs Luque....Your son was very exicted and when telling us his story of what he did during his xmas break ....Im not quite sure but it looked like was trying to say something about...well...jumping oversmoke...coconuts going BOOM. but I couldnt quite understand ... I think he was trying to explain about cigars and an upsidedown chicken" "Can you come in next week to chat"

Myonlysweeti, wooo that reminds me of how we use to do it in my parents house, when my pops was still alive it brought back memories. We had to be home before midnight even if you were married my brother and sister would meet in my parent house first, then go to their partner family house. Today we are spread around the country but one thing we make sure that we call erach other at midnight and say nhow much we love each other. 😉

thanks for the memories

Myonly, I like that money in the hand! Lord knows I could use a bit more! 😉 So this year, I think I'll borrow your family tradition of bringing in the new year with money in my hand. Thanks. :heee

OMG Soul, that's hard to explain to people who don't understand those beliefs we were raised with. :lol Good luck with that one.
