Definately - you can still do an Old School type of record with fast beats...Like I said, it isn't necessarily a fast beat that makes it Progressive, it is everything else as well (Keyboards, basslines, etc.)...

I own MANIA 1 (I was never able to get 2 or 3), and I thought it was a good compilation. I didn't mind that the songs were faster because they still carried an Old School feel. Your music has always been able to incorporate the best of both worlds (Old & New Schools).

Eesh... i know the 2 songs aren't 'new'. But the majority of people probably never heard them....so i thought I'd put em up. I never heard ther Appollo till they sent it and requested it be put in the smash/trash.

Thanks for the tip. Believe me, if anyone has new songs for the smash/trash section, I'm listening !

"Tears" by Rockell was in the smash/trash section a month or 2 ago. "What you did to me" wasn't released yet and I didn't have the freestyle remix till last week. It'll be in next months section.

I like the progressive beat, if it's not a Planet Rock sample, and the synthy boingy basslines. And faster is more danceable. Why do you think Euro and House are so popular? But I think Progressive Freestyle can use more elements of the Old School, namely string ensembles, voice samples played like a lead synth, latin percussions, and most importantly, that complex melody. "Seductive Love" doesn't have a complex melody. "Never Gonna Let You Go" does, etc.

Hey JB! You didn't put any of my new song suggestions in for this month. Oh well, maybe next time.
