I finally had the opportunity to check my mail this morning (sorry it took so long)...I received packages from both Victor Vega and Fernanda (formerly known as Cherée) and all 4 songs contained on these discs are great!
We’ll start with Fernanda’s CD
“PORQUE LA VIDA ES ASI” - I first heard this song on Labor Day when Fernanda performed this song at Caramello’s Freestyle Showcase at Roberto Clemente State Park in Bronx, NY. Soon to be released on Freddy Lopez’s E.L.I. Records, this track has an amazing Old School feel. This is the way that Freestyle is supposed to be and Fernanda’s voice has never been better!
“ALL I WANT TO KNOW” – A nice R&B song with enough attitude to satisfy the “urban” market and a pop feel to attract the TRL generation. The song is very strong and very good. It is very well produced and on par with any record by Christina Aguilera or Pink. Who knew that Fernanda had some rhyming skills?!?! She breaks into a very tight rap during the middle break!!! (At least I think it’s Fernanda).
“NOW I KNOW” (duet with Victor Vega) – A very nice ballad. Victor and Fernanda compliment each other beautifully. It kind of reminds me of the George LaMond/Brenda K. Starr days.
(On the CD Fernanda sent to me, there is a Radio Mix of “ALL I WANT TO KNOW” that excludes the dialog and rap).

The Victor Vega CD contains 3 versions of the Latin-Pop song “WHO WOULD HAVE EVER THOUGHT” from his upcoming album: No Debo Quererte.
The first version is the original mix. The song is very similar to recent releases by former Freestyle artist and current Latin-Pop sensation Marc Anthony. Victor’s vocals are very smooth and similar in style to Marc’s. The song is very strong with a Freestyle feel.
The second version is labeled as the Remix. While maintaining the same tempo as the original track, this version features a darker sound and a house beat that almost resembles beats you might find on a dancehall-reggae song. Both this remix and the original version are great to listen to!
As an added bonus, Victor also included the acappella vocal as the third version.
