What’s up everyone? I just heard that the girl who recorded the rest of the LaRissa album, including “Someone to Love Me” is now releasing the Album under her own name, and not LaRissa. She just recorded another song to replace “Jay & Jane” on the album, and that will be her next single.

Well she just finished the replacement song, which will be a single, but the rest of the albums is already done, so probably very soon. Not even she knows! Will keep ya posted. Her name is Eyra, but I don’t know yet if she will be using her real name or just her own stage name.
 
Why the name change

NOT FOR NOTHING BUT WHAT TOOK HER SO LONG TO COME OUT WITH AN ALBUM AND WHY DID SHE DECIDE TO NOT INCLUDE JAY AND JANE ON HER ALBUM LET ALONE CHANGE HER NAME? I THOUGHT HER REAL NAME WAS LARISSA.
 
Well, that's a long story. The original LaRissa (whose real name is LaRissa, she's from Brooklyn), who recorded Jay & Jane, only did that one song and that's it. She didn't even perform it. After the single was released, the records label got another girl (Her name was Kenji I believe) from the Bronx to do the performances. She is the one who did KTU's Ultimate Dance party last year, and also Krash, and I believe she toured in different parts of the country. For some reason (apparently the label is very hush-hush about it) they decided not to use Kenji for the album (maybe she couldn't sing), and they found Eyra, from Miami, to do the next single "Someone to Love Me" and she also recorded the rest of the album. She even wrote a song or two. Now, the album is finished, but the label decided not to use the name LaRissa anymore (probably legal reasons) so the next single from the album will be released very soon, under Eyra's name (or a stage name she picked), and after that, the album.
 
Stupid!

If LaRissa was the original singer's name, and they changed singers, why didn't they just drop the name and use Eyra. I'd be mad if I was the original LaRissa, that they stole my name.
 
so - is 'kenji' the one that performed on the cindy margolis show? if so - is she the girl that sings on the rhythm 544 song "where did your love go"? cuz she sang it on the show and she sounded a lot like the original.
 
Well, I'm not sure which one did Cindy Margolis show, but it wasn't Eyra, because she hasn't done any performances yet. And yeah, I heard that the orginal LaRissa was extremely mad, but "LaRissa" was the label's project, and I guess they had certain rights or something to keep using the name. There was a lot of "drama" with that whole thing. I know that neither LaRissa nor the writers ever got a penny for anything. I have a pic of Kenji that used to be on KTU's website (Spanish, with black, very curly hair, tons of makeup), but I don't know how the original LaRissa looks. How did the one on Cindy's show look?

I had the pleasure of meeting and having a late night meal with Eyra during the Winter Music Conference. She is a very bright, talented and beautiful young girl and I wish her all the success she deserves.
 
I agree Ivan, I met her online and "talk" to her often. She has a good head on her shoulders, and is very talented. And Eyra, if your reading this, thanks for the advice on all subjects.😉 Hope to see you perfomring real soon. Best of Luck!!
