thanks to chuck d for his info regarding hitz94 in north carolina and their new freestyle show friday nights from 7-9pm - i decided to write them and show them support and to thank them for their freestyle support. it was really nice of them to write back -

Hey Safirefan -

That's a cool domain name...I'm assuming you live here in the Triad, but perhaps grew up in NY. Which city are you in?
Anyway, I'm really thrilled to hear and read the positive comments from Hitz 94 listeners on our newest feature show. And you're right, SaFire music was/is slammin'! I, too have really missed this genre, having grown up in LA listening to Power 106 during my early 20's. The cynical, conventional wisdom for the Triad (and for N. Carolina generally) is that people here only like 3 types of music: Classic (guitar) Rock, Country, or R&B/Hip Hop. It is our sincere hope to prove that narrow thinking wrong. So again, your kind comments really mean a lot to us...THANK YOU!! 🙂 For your convenience, we've posted our current FFF library on our website at HitZ94.com. Better yet, just click here and see it instantly!

Feel free to call or write with your freestyle request anytime; we'll try to get them on for you! It's our pleasure to support the music!

😛 WOW THATS REALLY COOL..YA SEE WHAT POSTING AND TAKING THE TIME OUT TO WRITE A LETTER OR EMAIL CAN DO FOR THE GENRE..I DO THE SAME WITH NY STATIONS..GREAT JOB..SAFIREFAN..AND CHUCK..😛

Wow!! I was there trying my ass off to get freestyle on the air waves and it never worked. I finally moved to new jersey and here it goes..."freestyle in n. carolina". Man!!!!!!!! Grrrrrr!!! Well im glad to hear this at least. Just upset that I wasnt able to do anything there. I did have a one time freestyle show in a college station....but the response wass terrible so they made me bounce. And it is true....I was out in Raleigh and the only thing they would play would be country, rock, alternative, heavy metal, rap and r and b.
