does anyone know if rockell/joe zangies "when i want you back" south beach mix is freestyle or house. the itunes sample starts off house but then has a broken beat.
please advise.
i hate that these audio samples are never long enough nor give you the essence of the song.

Loved his music for the past decade & have all his stuff. He's kinda like the Portuguese/Canadian version of George Lamond & Justin Timberlake.
His other stuff is great as well.
I posted him in a thread here a couple yrs ago, when he had the song "Let's Go" out that samples Yaz's Electro classic "Don't Go".

If you've seen the movie "Honey" with Jessica Alba, he's in it. He's the guy singing in the video in a chair where she's dancin all around him all sexy.😉
Jus kinda pissed he's neva crossed over to U.S., like his fellow Portuguese-Canadian friend, Nelly Furtado.

It's not freestyle but still not bad (that Danielle Simeone song). The Warren Rigg/Tony Moran mixes have a nuwave feel to them kinda (I know there's no break in the beat but still). This would have made a really good freestyle song. Someone should get the "Candlelight mix" and drop some freestyle drums behind it at twice the speed (syncopation). I guess all freestyle songs without the drums could kinda be slow jams as that is what it is if one stops and thinks about it. Take the drums out of any freestyle song and listen to the synthapella-it could've been a slow jam of around 60 BPM. The drums added in at 120 (it's still a perfect match and you got the syncopation which is one of the technical defining factors of freestyle).

I wish these snippets were a bit longer as out of all that, I still never got to hear the hook. The song starts off good and then right when the chorus is gonna hit, it cuts off.
