New Freestyle 2011 and then some

Yeah. You would think that a new Denine single on Tazmania would have at least ONE freestyle remix.

No way. I think it's pretty obvious between the current roster of artists on their website (with the exception of Nyasia) and last few releases by Wendy, Johnny O., Joe Zangie and now, Denine - that Tazmania has abandoned Freestyle. From what I've heard, their last Freestyle compilation (Overloaded) did not do all that well in terms of sales (less than 150 copies sold is the number I was told), so they've rebooted the label to move into a more mainstream dance music direction. The redesigned logo should have been the first clue that something was up. 😉

I've heard things along similar lines of what Rhoq posted here but more from other corners of the "freestyle industry". The renaissance of new freestyle music during the last several years didn't exactly go so well as far as actual sales and thus revenue. That seems to be the consensus from every single producer/record label that was putting out the new freestyle during these past 3 years. I don't know why but fans just don't want any part of any freestyle that was made at some point in the last 20 years. It has to be older than that to have any chance. I know, it makes no sense as this is some pretty good music that the world has slept on.

To go a step further, I even noticed it with my mixCD sales. Almost half the songs on BT3 were new/current (no one-not even me ever plays that much new stuff on freestyle mixes out this way) and it hasn't been selling anywhere close to as well as my older titles (that I still sell right along with my newest one). Every store tells me the same thing "too many songs that customers don't recognize". I was totally ready to blame my self but when my older titles are selling far better (at the same exact time) than my newest title where I experimented with being kinda current, it becomes quite obvious. Yes, freestyle is over BUT the old school and thus the long running face of the genre lives on and then to hear at every turn "why did they stop coming out with new freestyle?" or "new freestyle sucked and that's why they stopped making it" or "if they'd come out with something good then maybe things wouldn't be like this" or "how come they don't perform their new stuff ever?", it's like adding insult to injury. Those quotes I just mentioned is really what people think and say.

That song "Miracle" is actually called "Never Without You" on the page unless it's just missing altogether (I had never heard either song before so I'm not sure). "Only Cries" is a really good one he has on there. There's also a reggaeton remix of "I'll Always Love You" that's pretty good as well. Good post.

Hi Kid, actually if you go through the entire song list, "Miracle" is the last song on the playlist and "Never Without You" is the frist song on the list, as you mentioned he has a couple of good ones on the list.

$20 for a three track single? Now that's overpriced! And there are no audio clips so I don't even get a sample of what I'm buying?

Here is the link to the song but the clip is not very long.

Even though I understand where you are coming from, the girls are doing everything on their own and therefore remixing, producing and editing is very expensive. Also the song is being sold via their site exclusively.
