Love Cynthias new song "Why"
Liz_Torres said:it's a cover of Marisol's "Why can't u tell me"
maybe Krystal.... but let me say I heard it & liked it, I didn't realize it was a remake until I read it here... I'm not familiar with the original, and I'm gonna guess that the majority of the KTU listening public wouldn't realize it either. Point is instead of being upset that it's a remake make it a positive thing... maybe it'll help spark the movement so artists can work on & release original jamz... 🙂Krystal said:What I'm saying is this...if you are gonna go with a NEW sound...go with a NEW song. Don't try to do something with a song that was GREAT to begin with. Remixes are NOT the way to go when you're hyping a NEW sound. That's just my opinion. 🙂
obviously someone thought this one had the most radio potential.... it doesn't have to be a competition, an either or, the original or the remake, they both can be good in their own way... and now that i know it's a remake I'm gonna familiarize myself with the original so in that sense the original just got boosted. 🙂Krystal said:why not use one of those songs?
i know exactly what u mean about her vox not quite fitting with the beat, i thought that at first too.... i need to hear it again....junito722 said:the only positive things i found about the song was that her voice sounded a bit better. i'm guessing she's taken a few vocal lessons cause there's definitely an improvement. i liked the beat a lil too...i just didn't think it fit in with the rest of the song.
Here's my take in all of this.LaBettyBoop said:I personally liked the song. Loved Cynthia and Evelyn's vocals. However, you can't please everyone. Everybody is going to feel differently about it. Some will like it. Some won't. But that's the way the ball always bounces! Been like that for years, for different genres, and it's not going to change now. Some peeps have a problem accepting the name "Urban Dance". Some are all for it. I love Freestyle! Always did. Love originality but I'm also very OPEN MINDED. I believe in giving a chance to the NEW artist, song, name, era, etc....... So I know that when I listen to "Crying Over You", "You'll Never Find Another Love", "Don't Take Your Love Away", "Bad of the Heart", etc, it's ORIGINAL OLD FREESTYLE MUSIC. Freestyle will always be freestyle. Especially those oldies. And when I listen to MORE Urban Dance, it's URBAN DANCE. That's it. Coro's coming out with something very soon too! That's going to get all kinds of criticism too. But I can't wait to hear it. I'm ready for the new sound, even if it does have old samples in it. I mean come on, really, what doesn't have OLD samples? In every music category, rap, R & B, Rock, Dance there are samples. People just need to realize what they're listening too. Sometimes you can overlook hearing an old sample because you really like the artist and automatically had a positive thought in your head about the new song that you KNEW you were going to love. No different here. Keep an open mind and give it a chance. It's the beginning to a new ERA. Once again. 😉
