A new sound with an old song. Yep! That sounds like a winner to me. :rolleyes

NO ONE will be able to TOUCH Marisol on that song. Well cept maybe one and I'm sorry it's not Cynthia! :whistle

I personally liked the song. Loved Cynthia and Evelyn's vocals. However, you can't please everyone. Everybody is going to feel differently about it. Some will like it. Some won't. But that's the way the ball always bounces! Been like that for years, for different genres, and it's not going to change now. Some peeps have a problem accepting the name "Urban Dance". Some are all for it. I love Freestyle! Always did. Love originality but I'm also very OPEN MINDED. I believe in giving a chance to the NEW artist, song, name, era, etc....... So I know that when I listen to "Crying Over You", "You'll Never Find Another Love", "Don't Take Your Love Away", "Bad of the Heart", etc, it's ORIGINAL OLD FREESTYLE MUSIC. Freestyle will always be freestyle. Especially those oldies. And when I listen to MORE Urban Dance, it's URBAN DANCE. That's it. Coro's coming out with something very soon too! That's going to get all kinds of criticism too. But I can't wait to hear it. I'm ready for the new sound, even if it does have old samples in it. I mean come on, really, what doesn't have OLD samples? In every music category, rap, R & B, Rock, Dance there are samples. People just need to realize what they're listening too. Sometimes you can overlook hearing an old sample because you really like the artist and automatically had a positive thought in your head about the new song that you KNEW you were going to love. No different here. Keep an open mind and give it a chance. It's the beginning to a new ERA. Once again. 😉

well..i've always thought people should never remake songs unless they can at least make a better version. Cynthia did NOT do this with this version. the production is bad (almost cheap sounding), the arrangements are horrible and empty. the original is 10 times better..sorry. and on top of that it's not even freestyle...ppl made such a big deal about posting about that sweet sensation song even though it wasnt freestyle...but this one has absolutely no trace of freestyle on it...except for the fact that it's a cover of a freestyle song. i dont care if she does freestyle or wutever she chooses...but damn..at least make a song with some sort of melody. coro and george lamond on the song were unnecessary. maybe a better remix can save this song.

I hear what you're saying LaBetty. I'm not trying to put down the "Urban Dance" movement or whatever it is that they are trying to do cuz honestly...the sample that I heard intrigued me.

What I'm saying is this...if you are gonna go with a NEW sound...go with a NEW song. Don't try to do something with a song that was GREAT to begin with. Remixes are NOT the way to go when you're hyping a NEW sound. That's just my opinion. 🙂

maybe Krystal.... but let me say I heard it & liked it, I didn't realize it was a remake until I read it here... I'm not familiar with the original, and I'm gonna guess that the majority of the KTU listening public wouldn't realize it either. Point is instead of being upset that it's a remake make it a positive thing... maybe it'll help spark the movement so artists can work on & release original jamz... 🙂

Regardless that many others have not heard it...this is where they are hyping it. On the boards with members that do know the song. Or most of us do. 😛

Rumor had it that Cynthia's been working on a new album...why not use one of those songs? Or were they all remakes? I highly doubt it.

obviously someone thought this one had the most radio potential.... it doesn't have to be a competition, an either or, the original or the remake, they both can be good in their own way... and now that i know it's a remake I'm gonna familiarize myself with the original so in that sense the original just got boosted. 🙂

the only positive things i found about the song was that her voice sounded a bit better. i'm guessing she's taken a few vocal lessons cause there's definitely an improvement. i liked the beat a lil too...i just didn't think it fit in with the rest of the song.

i know exactly what u mean about her vox not quite fitting with the beat, i thought that at first too.... i need to hear it again....

Kim's gettin' in on this conversation & her comment is, "it's kinda cheesy that a well known artist like Cynthia has to resort to a remake & try to pass it off as a new song" 🙂

I couldnt hear it from where I live ,but judging from what Ive read there is no way you can touch the Original Track Marisol tore that shit up.

This is another example of keeping the New School Artist down , Why didnt KTU push it in 2001 when Marisol rereleased it , but now That Cynthia "remade it and changed a title Why It been played.......

Unreal

Here's my take in all of this.

If a song sucks then I feel we have our rights to say it sucks. Cuz to my knowlege......not every freestyle song in this world is gonna be hot. And we have to be honest but without being offensive to anyone. And the people reading our opinions should just take it in as constructive criticism and not feel offended because we didn't like a certain song. Cuz I feel this genre DOES need alot of constructive criticism. And thats how we all help each other. And all you guys wonder why this music doesn't go anywhere??.....Uhh hello.

Listen to the song with your hearts and not your minds but at the same time be true to the style. Know it's boundaries. Respect the music. Cuz thats why were all here. For the freestyle. Not to bullshit.
