Hey Chuck... you look great. Nice truck.
I do have a question for you... (maybe this should fall under that self improvement thread, but here I go anyway)
What method of teeth whitening did you use and did you see a big difference?
🙂
I went for the brite smile treatment that you hear about on the radio.
Here's how it works:
You need a preview to determine if you are a brite smile candidate. They make sure you have no caps or anything on your teeth. Once you are ready to go, they prep you for the treatment.
First, they use some kind of gadget to make sure your mouth is stretched open and your teeth are exposed. Then, they coat your gums and lips with a protective shield to make sure they are not exposed to light. then a small bib like thing is placed around your mouth to protect your upper lip and chin and cheeks.
Finally they coat your teeth with a substance, and have you bite down on a tray with a small stick on the end, and attach a light to that stick. the light is aimed at your teeth and turned on, and you stay that way for about 20 minutes. Then, they come in, and apply more chemical, and do the light for a second 20 minutes. Then they re-apply the chemical one last time, and do the light for 20 more minutes. Then you are done.
I was able to go up three shades in whiteness for my teeth. However, there are things you need to know.
#1. The cost of the procedure is $650.00. I booked my appointment during the holiday "sale" and got $100.00 deducted off the price.
#2. The commercials talk about getting your teeth up to 8 shads whiter. Well, yes, that is possible. However, it depends on your teeth color. They have a graph, and it lists shades of white from 1 (most white) to 10 (least white) My teeth feel into the shade of #4, so I was only able to go three shades whiter. If your teeth are a 2, then you will be paying that money to only go up one shade.
#3. The habits you have determine how long the whiteness will last. If you smoke, or drink a lot of coffee, tea, red wine and other dark drinks, all those stain the teeth, and the procedure may only last about 6 months. I don't do any of those, so for me, the procedure will last approximately 2 years.
#4 For 24-48 hours after the procedure, your teeth may have an ache to them. Nothing major, but the light dehydrates them, and they can ache due to that. Also, the light makes them "porous" and able to abosrb stains easily for the first 24-48 hours, so NOTHING with color can be put into your mouth. You can only have white foods and drinks. Turkey breast, chicken breast, cottage cheese, vanilla ice cream or pudding, spring water. Also, no colored toothpaste or mouthwashes for that 24-48 hours.
