Ok people, I admit, everytime I go to a pharmacy (be it Walgreens, Eckerd or Duane Reade), my eyes set first on the beauty aisle :lol. I need some serious help because I swear everytime (and I mean everytime) I go to the pharmacy to get something that's not part of the beauty section, I end up buying something from the beauty section anyway! lol. As a result, I now have like 100 nail polishes, 30 perfumes and a zillion (ok exaggerating, maybe 70) lipsticks...everything is a different color. If I don't have that color, I will for sure pick it up...its like I act on impulse. Can anyone relate? I swear I need some help :lol.
 
I am a lip gloss junkie! I have sooo many! Well, I love makeup, period but lip gloss is my vice!! I always love browsing in drugstores!

wow...that's alot. you have to be careful with obtaining so many products. after a period of time, they do expire and you should throw them out.
 
LMAO. I just now noticed this thread. I do the same thing myself lachicabella. I wait though til I have coupons and try to get them on clearance. I have so many shades and colors, especially of nail polish. I even get them if the name appeals to me.
 
I think I beat all of you...I work in cosmetics, for Sephora, and am surrounded all day by make-up. Well, when I am finished I go over to Bloomingdales to visit my friend, who works for Yves Saint Laurent cosmetics, and I end up wanting to buy lipstick, nail polish, and eyeshadow..even though I have tons already. Oh, and what makes me weaker then eveyone is YSL cosmetics cost way more than any drugstore. I so do not have that kind of money to throw around, but I can't help myself. It's like I am an addict,...I will admit it..."I am a cosmetic whore"
I am probably going to end up on Oprah, or Tyra Banks show, confessions from a "COSMETIC WHORE", today on our show...we start with Gabrielle.
HELP!

Hey Gabbi..........I've been a makeup artist for a long time and used to be a Business Mgr/Makeup Artist for YSL...................their color is AWESOME! If you havent ever tried the GOMMAGE exfoliator, YOU MUST! But if you have a friend that works for them, Im sure you've prob. tried it a gajillion times already! 😉

I saw where someone mentioned about things going bad and throwing them away........with lipsticks, bacteria cannot get past the top layer, so shave off a thin layer of the top, then dip it in alcohol, and VOILA! good as new!

Nail polishes, if they get thick and 'gunky' just put a bit of nail polish remover in the bottle, shake well, and good as new again! 🙂

Im sure everyone knows those tips, but Im new here and excited about finding a site that has a forum for freestyle AND fun stuff too! 🙂

Ah-ha! So there ARE tricks to keeping your makeup for a long time! Love it love it love it = addiction addiction addiction! :lol

I forgot to mention that I have 17 different lotions sitting on my dresser in my apartment lol.
 
LOL Another trick to keeping your eyeshadows and blushes from getting what's called 'glazing'................when the oils from your eyelids and cheeks make the top of the powder glazed over.................take the end of any eyeshadow/blush brush and lightly scrape it in a zig-zag motion and VOILA! You'll get loosend powder of the product, but use it with a lighter hand than you would normally because it will be a touch more pigmented than usual!

Hey my first time online in over a month, and something wonderful about YSL. I do love the gommage and all other things YSL, I work for Sephora, and was so distraught when they took the line out of all Sephora stores 4 years ago. I still buy all the lipcolour, I just love the depth of pigment. My 2 favorites are # 42 (great red with gold), and the holiday colour # 57 (rosey red) :dancepuff
 
Hey Bill! I have also heard of a process called "foiling", where you dip an eyeshadow into water and it gives it a foiled look. Well, thats what this company Bare Escentuals does, anyway.

I havent heard of that Randi..........what's the effect when put on the eye? Is it cool? Sounds like it would be!

Gabbi, do you remember the YSL collection that came out around the time that they did the makeup for Queen Amedala (sp chk) for that Star Wars movie......those colors were AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
