another day I rise with tears in my eyes
because not so long ago I had you by my side
you promised me that you would return
but all I have is an image that truly burns
I had protected my heart from words like yours
always was aware and guarded your entrance through my doors
but before I was able to react
my dreams became known, it was too late to pull back
slowly and intensely with deceptive honesty
you extended your hand showing me sympathy
you pretended to actually care
as time went by I got used to the idea of having you there
it wasn't enough for you to play a game with my soul
you couldn't stop there, you had to gain all control
while you laughed at my disfavor and misery
I appealed to your cold heart for some clemency
now you're on your way to your new life
unfortunately i'm still hurt and a bit surprised
i didn't expect a man like you
to break-in my life and leave me feeling like a fool
i don't want your fake words much less an apology
i only want you to admit what you did to me
it shouldn't fill you up with much pride
there's nothing great about destroying my mind
it may not be today or anytime soon
but a lesson you'll learn perhaps maybe two
and then you might just understand
how it feels to be with your heart at hand
