I was in one of those moods this weekend...getting all emotional and thinking about things and I wrote this. Hopefully I can type it without getting teary eyed, and I hope the person I want to see it sees it soon. Ok...here goes:
Sometimes people I've called friends
have backstabbed me, turned away, lied,
or have just come and gone.
Been hurt by people
I thought never would.
Emotional scars,
making it hard for me to trust people.
But with you,
something somehow clicked.
I opened up to you,
quicker than I ever have before.
At first I wondered if I did the right thing,
but as time has gone on,
I realized my gut instinct was right.
You know me,
the true me.
My good side, bad side,
geeky side, crazy side
and the quiet side.
You've been there when shit got thick,
helped me realize my mistakes
just by lending an ear
so I could vent.
You've seen me happy, sad, upset
and never once did you judge me
or turn your back.
I can be difficult, moody and bitchy,
yet you see past that,
accpeting me for who I am.
I feel as though I've known you all my life,
and it's my life I trust you with.
Growing closer with time,
our bond strengthening,
becoming unbreakable.
Just knowing you're there
makes life a little easier.
You've done so much for me,
I hope I've done the same for you.
I'm here for you anytime,
day or night,
a simple phone call away.
Friendship is a gift,
and I have definatley gotten the greatest gift ever.
Honestly I consider you my best friend,
a term I don't use loosely
or give to just anyone.
You're the sister I never had,
an angel that has touched my life in so many ways,
and made this world a better place.
