I have always liked 80's group 5 Star. They had a few hits here, but were huge in Europe.

I could never find any of thier stuff on cd. I had the old cassettes, but no way to convert it to cd. Well, I went to NYC today, and hit the Virgin Megastore. I walked into the "import" section, and found "Legends-5 Star". A 3 cd set that includes 41 songs. It was only $18.99, which is close to the price of 1 cd.

The hits that you may remember that are on it are:

All Fall Down
Let Me Be The One
Crazy
Love Take Over
If I Say Yes
Can't Wait Another Minute
Whenever You're Ready
Strong As Steel
Rock My World

I was jamming to this on the way home from the city today. Daym...the memories.

Which Virgin Megastore you went to? Im going there in two weeks but the one in Union Square 😀 I like Virgin Megastore used to go there alot especially to the import section they carry great stuff.

Here is some info on 5 Star.

This family quintet from Britain featured lead vocalist Deniece, plus Stedman, Doris, Lorraine, and Delroy Pearson. Their RCA debut single, "All Fall Down," reached 16 on the R&B charts, while "Let Me Be The One" started a string of Top 10 hits. It was their biggest, reaching number two; "Love Take Over" and "Can't Wait Another Minute" were the others. They also landed "If I Say Yes" and "Are You Man Enough" in the Top 20. The released a comeback LP in 1994, and continued recording into the new millennium.

chuck of course I remember 5 star... I have all of their 12" vinyls.... well the known ones at least!!!!! 🙂
 
I love ALL their stuff!
I have some 2005 remixes of their classics, as well as some new songs. They have been performing again, are planning a new album, & some of the members have released hott solo stuff.

5 Star is made up of 5 Black Brittish siblings, 3 female: Deniece, Doris, Lorraine
& their 2 brothers, Stedman & Delroy.
And guess what Chuck?? Stedman is openly gay. 🙂
He has some kool solo stuff as well.
