Music to DJ's?

Hey guys! Watz the best way to get hot songs to DJ's to play in clubs. Would a 'walk-up and ask in a club' approach usually work? Are attending DJ conferences to meet DJ's helpful? What would you suggest?

The best bet would be to drop off the cd personally to the DJ. I know I get people dropping me off CD's all the time. I'm too busy to listen to it right then and there, but usually when I get home I'll give it a listen. If it's a good song, then I'll give it a spin the next time I'm on.

Best way to get your music out there!!

I have been spinning for 15 years and you answered your own question. Over the years I have met so many aspiring artist which comped me a demo of their latest project.Some have become friends for life. You touched on going to DJ conferences that's another excellent way to put your music out . Recently I attended the Billboard Dance Summit NYC. I met new DJ's , artist's , promoter's and old industry friend's it's an excellent way to interact and shop your music!
The only other thing i would suggest is getting to know record pool directors and eventually servicing a pool with as many pieces as they need. They have the inside track to Club jocks like myself,Radio and Mobile jocks. I hope this helped

Dude the Winter Music Conference is going on in march down in Miami.
Through the years I have felt theat this is one of the best places to mingle and promote your stuff on a one on one basis.
The atmosphere is usually very casual and you can pretty much walk right up to some of the hottest people in the industry.
They also even have demo listening workshops.
All in all everything that everybody has said here is absolutly true.
Just gotta do some foot work...
