Concert was Amazing
Quote:

The concert was excellent. It was an endurance concert becase they started it too late...at midnight...and they had so many wonderful artists to go through. I think it ended around 4am. Johhny O and Cynthia on stage performing Dreamboy/Dreamgirl was surreal. It was a very large venue and there was still pretty much standing room only...it was packed.

See plenty of pictures at http://www.singlesinmiami.com/galle...d=362&pid=25745
Well this was orginally posted in the wrong spot. Hopefully, it's okay that I move it over here. i'm sure the CF Police will let me know if not! Awesome Pictures by the way

They were awesome pictures. And of corse, didn't the Cover Girls look hot! Sabrina, like the hair cut and wasn't Miss Loraine really working that white dress. Evelyn (CF member), what can I say you looked gorgeous as ever. Nayobe, is so pretty. She has a beautiful smile. Tre (CF member), was there too with K7 and the other Swing Kids. Cynthia, looked good. Johnny O, really worked up a sweat and the crowd there.:sflower

Hi, sadly....growin up being a part of the freestyle era and being a recording artist myself who performed with the "original" Cover Girls plenty of times hates when record labels change artists, they are like imposters. I am sorry but i saw the new Cover Girls here in Miami at Oxygen and they did not AT ALL sound like the original cover girls they didn't even compare in looks, just they were cute but the original Cover Girls should of NEVER been replaced.....there is just NO replacing them, I was truly disappointed with the performance knowin who the real Cover Girls are.....they are gaining fame on three others girls true success from the 80's! Sorry but i am entitled to my opinion!!

Most defently everyone is entitled to there opinion! The Cover Girls right now are not anywhere like the ones in the 80's. Currently all the Cover Girls sing live and take turns singing lead(which I believe previously was not done). There not ment to look or immitate a sound or a look from any previous group. There gorgeous independent woman taking care of there families and entertaining audience everywhere. There in fact there own version of the Cover Girls. Time changed and members LEFT ON THERE OWN ACCORD. Evelyn, has logged more time with the Cover Girls than anyone else. You mentioned that they are gaining succuss off 3 other girls succuss HOW? Evelyn, came in when the previous member bailed ship. She took over and started recording her own hits. Loraine and Sabrina were also recording artists before the joined the Cover Girls. They had there own music that was released to the public way before joining the group. These girls are out there doing there shows not claiming to be anyone else but who they are and that the Cover Girls(not from the 80's but of the new millium)!:sflower

WOW, I hit a nerve!!

Sweetie, no need to get all bent out of shape, you swear you were in the group with how immaturely you reacted to ones own opinion. The new Cover Girls may have been who ever before they joined the group formerly known as Cover Girls but as a fan from the 80's and an artist, the Cover Girls are who they are because of the songs "ONLY" from the 80's that in which they are now performing that is why they have gained the popularity they have presently today. When they are announced to perform at a club for instance like in Miami the night at Oxygen...half the club who had known the originals and had witnessed them years ago were very disappointed and we won't see them again. They should have been called the Cosmopolitan Girls and made it on their own without the help or songs of the ex cover girls REGARDLESS if they chose to jump ship. You need to take a chill pill and respect that someone can have their OWN opinion!!!

Well, it seems that Tank Truck is entitled to his own opinion as well. If you are not prepared for someone else's response you should never put it out there. I agree with Tank. They are fab. These girls issue promo shots of themselves, not of the old girls. There is no misrepresenting who they are. If management owns the name and decides to do with it what they chose then so be it! I would rather see them doing justice to the group by singing live and kicking butt onstage than some lip-synching track act. Wasn't this an issue like 2 years ago? I thought we were all over it!
PS. Do you think that the fans who still go out and see the Village people believe them to be the original group?

Another thing....

😉
You keep mentioning songs from the 80's, but some of these songs were recorded in the 90's. Wishing on a star and funk boutique as well as other hits were recorded when Angel left and Evelyn who you "saw" at Oxygen lounge recorded them! Check out the discography and you will see that Evelyn of the current group recorded many songs when she joined in 91' or 92'. As for people not wanting to see them, if you check out some other threads by using the search engine and type "the Cover Girls" you will see that they are working and getting plenty of great feedback! Have a good one all!

Like I said...everyone is entitled to there own opinion....I don't doubt the new cover girls with their own songs are good performers but when the new cover girls sing songs like "Show Me" and "Because of You"...two songs that put the original Cover Girls on the market, it's a shame to hear them live and not sound a thing like the originals. In my personal opinion....i would prefer the old Cover girls!

Just a footnote...

The original cover girls as a group never sang live. The only vocals that were ever live were the leads so this may be why the new girls sound so different. They are all singing live.

Listen....sweetie, i am not going to continue this childish dispute with you. i sang many times with the Cover Girls and can personally vouche that they sang live......it's very obvious when an artist sings live or does not. Deal with the fact that maybe more then one person thinks the ORIGINAL Cover Girls are much better and the new ones are just imitating them!! Get over it already!!! Besos!

Darling Bam Bam Bam...

Is everyone involved in this thread childish or immature, or is it just the ones who disagree with you. So far in this thread you have called one immature and the other childish. Members should feel free to express opinions without verbal insults as a repercussion. This is what CF is all about! Handle it! It's okay. We still love you. :flowery

Sweetie....I've come to a conclusion...you must be sad to just keep going with it....is there anyway to block you...I wish there was....GO AWAY!!!!! :uzi

Well, we all have our opinions on the Cover Girls, but this thread isn't about them only or there subject matter. It's about pictures of the Fever Freestyle Show in Miame, in which they participated in, as well as OTHER ARTISTS. Regardless, if your a fan of the older group, a fan of a new chapter in the Cover Girls history, or a fan of both. All that matters that your a fan. So, I suggest we keep it on an adult level. This goes for eveyone!! Have A Great Day!:sflower
