hey he could be right..lotsa early 80s late 80s pop groups tried to jump on the freestyle bandwagon, so not sayin in anyway, shape, or form that menudo is freestyle...im sure the song has a freestyle elemnts mixed in there for good measure tho cause that sound was selllllllllin back then!
now i must go to the basement and scrummage around for my i <3 menudo pins!!

ok im ashamed to admit it but i heard cosmopolitan girl back in the days. it came out around 1993-1994. one of my friends had the single. it was horrible and a bunch of us used to be amused by it (especially the rap part of the song). sorry but theres no way its freestyle even a lil. not that im crackin on menudo/mdo or anything cuz hey they DID have some good songs. but unfortunately that wasnt one of them.
also around the same time they hadda song called "dancin movin shakin" which was released as a 12" on....MICMAC RECORDS. but i would say if anything it was closer to poppy house than freestyle....
 
This is funny - Kiki was cute, too, but....... Miguel was not only cute, but had a pretty damned good voice, Johnny with his puppy dog eyes and Raymond, another one with a damned fine voice. NKOTB - nah, not for me, but by 1988 when Raymond left, I didn't follow them at all anymore, I was already a little bit older.

that slow jam 'if ur not here' was pretty phat!, I still catch myself singing it sometimes,....but no I never thought of them as freestyle.
 
Yep, 1990 - Serge and Rube got caught at the airport in FL with moto(?). Ah well, then all this other stuff came out (sexual, physical abuse, etc.) Who knows, but they all seem to be doing just fine, for the most part.
