Medeival Times, Dark Ages, Ancient Times, Kings, Queens, & Castles.

Have u ever wondered what it would be like to live in those times?
I know one thing would suck besides no electricity, - NO FREESTYLE!!!🙁

My Paternal Grandmother's family history dates to these times in Spain, & I have always been intrigued by these eras, & would one day love to visit some of these Old Castles that are still around.
They seem like Fairytales, but the truth is, these people & times did exist.
Very interesting, yet mysteriously creepy.

Some movies that remind us of these times (or like them) are:

Everafter
Braveheart
Elizabeth
The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy
The Musketeer
Sleepy Hollow
& various Vampire movies, etc.

I've been reading up on some Castles & their history, very interesting, & sometimes trifling & violent.

Beleive it or not, some of these ancient Castles are even up for sale.
Some are abandoned & in ruins, others are preserved & renovated with modern-day technology & now serve as Museums or universities/schools, apartments, & others are STILL homes of some of the original families, & others are advertised in Real Estate for sale. (anywhere between $300,000 - $40 Million!) And some of course, "Not For Sale".

Some are rumoured to be "Haunted".

For any of us who are intrigued or fascinated by these beautiful structures & their history, it would be a dream come true to live in one (yeah right!).🙂
Some are available as rentals for all types of parties & functions.

They are not only in Europe & other countries, but here in the USA as well.
Here are some kool links to enjoy, but I am sure there are more at Yahoo.com.
You never know, there may be one in your hometown. 🙂

I went to a castle in Germany. supposedly the castle where Dr. Frankenstein did all his experiments..lol it was fallen apart, but some areas looked beautiful still.

Grrr! ...I envy u Naya! lol.
Do u remember the name of it?

I think the only Castle/Fortress thing I have ever been to, was El Morro in P.R., & some Old Castle Museum place in Massachusetts.
& There's one here in Palm Beach we've seen when we drive by there.
🙂

OMG, Thats my ultimate too!
Everything in my sala is Egyptian!
My great grandfather stayed in Egypt for sometime, & my cousin went to visit like in 1998. I wanted to go so bad.

I would love to go to Spain & meet family too. My fathers mom & family came to settle in P.R. from Old Castile/Madrid when my Great Grandmother was pregnant with my Abuela.
& On my MOM's side, its the opposite, its my Abuelo who is from the Canary Islands of Spain, I beleive they came to P.R. when he was a kid.
Lemme find out we taking a trip! 🙂

I plan someday to go see the ruins of Mexico, must be nice!
Also, see if u can find out about that castle for me.
Thanx.
🙂

I did see the ruins in Mexico, Tulum about fifteen years ago and Chichen Itza in November, very cool. Those are like pyramids, and you get to climb up them. I didnt climb this time around though, cause last time I did at Tulum and I got freaked out coming back down, cause they are very high and steep.
