Was goin' on, Mi gentes!!!
Wow! It is amazing to see how many of you really want FREESTYLE to make a come back. Ya got me hyped up!
Well I am thru wondering & listening as to why FREESTYLE died... I am more interested in trying to resurrect it.
I've been around Freestyle since the early days of AFRIKA BAAM' BATA & TINA B along w/ all the other artists as Freestyle transformed & became what it is. My roots stem from the early HeartThrob days (1983-1987). Yes, my buddies & I were there when the Latin Rascals, NOEL, NAYOBE, TKA, C-BANK, KRS-1, etc... Made their appearances & Little Louie Vega spun the wheels...
After that we ventured to Roseland, Studio 54, 1018, The Tunnel, The Underground (oh, baby! the girls in there! Whuuuuweeeee!), Red Parrot, La Mirage, The Palladium, L'More East, Copacabana (When it was on the EastSide: 60th bet\ 5th & Madison)... Boy those were the days!!!!
