That's my whole point. It just seems that A.I doesn't do it for me anymore. Most of theseTalen and reality Shows are down in ratings. I don't hear many people talk about Survivor. Did the new season start?LOL
 
American idol is still a VERY highly rated show. It is in the top 5 on a weekly basis. And in my opinion it is the most "real" of all reality shows because there is an actual outcome. I also really believe that this Top 12 is much better than last year's. Mario is gone...so what? A lot of other people are very good.

I don't think people are putting Clay down.

I'm just saying it's too soon to see if he can carry the success through to another album.

When the next one is released, then we'll have a clearer picture.

He was on David Letterman last night.

He came out to do the Top 10, which was the "Top 10 Reasons Mario left American Idol" and when he got to number 4, the reason was...."Ahhh screw it, I'm leaving this too, and then he walked out. :lol
 
i believe mario has been signed.and he dropped out for the publicity..i mean think about it.theres much more talk and buzz about him now then if he had actually won the competition..
 
Its true...Mario is on every show..all over the place! It definitely does seem like a publicity stunt to me. As for Clay, he has TONS of fans out there and Im sure his next album will do great. He may not have technically won Idol, but he really was the winner. Oh and Chuck, I was referring to the comment someone made about Clay, Rick Astley, and Howdy Doody being the same person!

Rick Astley has a great voice, and Howdy Doody is a legend. 😉
 
I just read that Mario is still under contract with AI until 3 months after the shows finale. So I dont think he signed with anyone yet. But without him and Amanda Avila the show sucks! This season in my opinion is the worst Top 12. Nikko Smith sucked last night! as well as most of the girls! Im gonna be pulling for Carrie and Scott!
 
Apparently, once you make it to the TOP 10, AI owns your a$$ for 7 years and they (AI) get 50% of whatever you make. Remember, they do allot of touring as just that... the TOP 10 of American Idol.

I said it earlier in this thread, he did it for publicity and only for that reason. There's nothing going on in his life that made him drop out... he had another opportunity so he took it.

Mario might have to keep it low, but someone has already grabbed him and signed him... not for nothing, you need someone to make all these deals to appear every where... whether he can be paid or not. He's getting publicity which will equal sales later.
 
Crazy4CoverGirls..you are entitled to your opinion, but Amanda Avila wasnt that good. If she made it into the Top 12, she wouldnt have lasted too long. She is a pretty girl but she didnt have the voice. As for Mario, he left and there is nothing anyone can do about it. And Chuck ...LOL I happen to like Rick Astley so Im ok with it...but I think the only similarities between Clay and Rick is the hair color and good voice! And Cla has been looking better and better lately!

I laugh every time I hear his song It Would take a Strong Strong Man because we used to work out to that song in my high school gym class. We also used to do the electric slide to Together Forever LOL Actually, his entire 1st album was really good!

Clay may not have won but he is extremely popular and has done remarkably well in record sales. Yes, kelly has done the best and I have always liked her.

I love Kelly Clarkson.... but she is own by AI for atleast 7yrs I believe
