What happened to Maribel? She has the most beautiful/romantic freestyle song.

I spoke to MARIBEL not to long ago on the phone. she is concentrating on salsa music now. but given the chance, she would do freestyle again.

I once heard a rumor that the Maribel who sang "Roses Are Red" is not the same Maribel who sang "Don't Make Me Promises." Any truth?

Kenny, which Maribel was at Krash? I remember seeing the first Maribel at L'Amour East way back in the day. How do they just go switching singer's, using the same name? Seems fishy to me.

the second MARIBEL was at KRASH. the 1st sang "roses are red" and the second sang "dont make me promises". it wasnt a GIGGLES or COVERGIRLS thing. each MARIBEL had thier own hit.

Any idea if Maribel (#1 or #2) will be performing anytime soon. She is one of the few freestyle artists I've never seen live. Thanks.

To clarify this matter even further, the Maribell that sang "Don't Make Me Promises" was Debbie Cole. However, she was not the singer on "Roses are Red", that was a different women.

GOOD INFO TO KNOW... GREAT JOB PEEPS. NOW A QUESTION, DID DEBBIE COLE (MARIBEL 2) SING "ROSES ARE RED" ALONG WITH "DONT MAKE ME PROMISES" @ KRASH? THAT IS OF COURSE, IF SHE SANG AT ALL AT KRASH.

my boy knows maribel really well, he tells me that it's always been the same girl(maribel) performing, only difference was that debbie cole sang vocals on "dont make me promises".....i seen maribel way back in the day when she did "roses are red" and then years later with "dont make me promises" and she's always been the same person, though i thought she sounded way different on "dont make me promises" lol......

i dunno, I was told by her x-mangafer there were "2" and the one that appeared at Krash was the 1st Maribel. i know we know the same sources, Marlon!!!

but, the 1st only sings "ROSES" while the second only performs "PROMISES"

B BOY,

I can assure you that Debbie Cole did ALL the vocals on "Don't Make Me Promises." Nelson Cruz the producer of the song confirmed this for me. The original Maribell released "Roses are Red." "Don't Make Me Promises" was supposed to be released as a Debbie Cole record but was not due to legal reasons. They are two different people and have no connection, except for the same stage name.
