Many wonder why I don't give Mariah Carey lots of grief. Well, me and her(except for money and talent.LOL) have one thing in common. She talks to Essence Mag about the hardships of being BiRacial. She talks about how she hated being called The White Whitney, this White Girl gots soul. She talks about how many black kids would call her white trash. It was a moving piece. I know how she feels. I know what it was like not being thought of a a true black person, or being called all kinds of ugly white trash. It's a good article.

Very good. She talks about the real reason she divorced Tommy Mattola. She says he was too controling.

But well all knew that didn't we

Either way I'll be checking out the article...I think she's very talented but could have been a lot more successful

Well, I personally love the way she sings. She can sing, unlike somebody else I know which I will not name here........ 😱 She has issues like everyone else. She couldn't cope with her issues well and took a bad turn when she was having that nervous breakdown. She's human!

Bi-racial may be hard, I wouldn't know. But I respect anyone who tells me they're bi-racial and it's been rough. I just hope that Mariah can continue with her career and really make it soar because that kind of talent shouldn't go to waste.

She talks about how despite in the last 8 years when she went into more of an Urban direction, the black community still does not really embrace her. It's sad.

That is sad! Because it should be about your talent. Not your ethnicity, or color of skin!

It is sad, she talks about how Sandra bernhard made a crack about her and P-Diddy(then Puff Daddy)." She's got the love of all these greasy Hip Hop Black Guys. Will she ever let Diddy know that she's got black in her.?"

I say, "screw P. Diddy"! She has nothing to prove to him. She just needs to build up her self esteem and become a stronger person spiritually. Because her vocals can take her so much more further.

I can't say I understand what she went through (or you Mike( growing up biracial), but what I don't understand is... if the "blacks" won't except her, why is she trying so hard to be apart of their lives? Just be you. She came out singing these beautiful songs and I believe that's another big part of why people (of any color... me especially) can't except her singing the stuff she has been singing.

What is it with these stars... Some how they make it big with all these hardships under their belt, maybe they should just let go of the past and be grateful for what you have now.

I haven't liked her stuff in a long time (just ballads I like of hers) especially when she got her boobs done. In her latest video, she looks so trashy.... maybe that's why Tommy was sooo controlling he tried to keep her looking clean and classy, not trashy like she looks.

LOL

I admit, I know mariah is not perfect, I think she wants to loved by everybody, whether it be black or white. That's why she is the Diva of the 90's next to celine. I have to say Celine, you Vegas gig is nice, LOL. I think she thought in the early 90's when she was called The White Whitney, she felt that there was so much hatered from the black community, she wanted to say; hey, I love everybody, but hey; I am part black.

Look, this might come out wrong, but I'm sorry, it's how I feel... and I'm not prejudice, just annoyed with the situation.

I remember when Prince's movie came out... (maybe it was the Under the Cherry Moon one, not sure)... the black community were soooo pissed off at him for having "lite skinned" black women in the movies and not the dark ones. Someone is always going to have something to say... just be you.

Well growning up I can see how she had it bad,.. but as an adult,.. well what can i say,.. she's got it made you got two doors too choice from where as most we only have one.

I used to like her until she became slutty looking in her videos.. I just didn't understand why she had to take that route .. she has talents.. She CAN SAAANNG!! So I don't care for her any longer.. the women in music today have really gone overboard w/ sleezyness.. Big ups to Gwen Stephanie, Eve, Ashanti a few others that haven't had to stoop to that level to get attention!
