It is stupid. All these companies are shelling all this money to celebs for commercials. But are cutting hours for hard working employees. I saw this on CNN last night.
 
Yup I work in retail and have always worked in retail...and no matter where you go...wut type of store...no matter who the owner is...the matter how big they are...hours are always getting cut...and you think it can't get worse and they still cut hours...show's you where priorities are
 
Think about it. Celebs who once were prominent "solo" artists, now teaming up for a cross-over style of music, dusting off old "samples" and remixing them are only first hand signs that your career needs a boost and yo looking for some scratch (a.k.a $$$).

Jeez I'd be jumping to revitilize my career with a 10 million dollar kick in da pants!

I'm not knocking Madonna for taking the money. If I was offered that amount to be in a commercial, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

As for revitilizing her career, I don't think that is the reason. Madonna's career (while not what is was in the 80's-early 90's) is still doing well.

Recent stats:

"Ray Of Light"-1998-This CD sold 3.7 million copies(u.s.)and put 3 songs into the Top 30 (2 of them in the Top 10). On the Top 200 Albums chart, it got to #2. Was also awarded a Grammy for Pop Album of the year.

"Music"-2000-This CD sold 3 million(u.s.) and put 3 songs into the Top 30 (1 at #1 and 1 at #4). On the Top 200 Albums chart, it got to #1. It was the first time since 1988 that Madonna had an album and single at #1 at the same time. (Like A Prayer in 88)

"American Life"-2003-This CD has sold 600,000 (just above gold status) and put 3 songs into the Top 40 (1 at #8). On the Top 200 album chart, it got to #1. While praised by critics, fans found this cd to be not as accessible as her two previous albums.
 
Just because Madonna is promoting the Gap doesn't mean that I'm going to "run" to the nearest Gap to purchase a pair of courduroys.

Especially since I need to buy a pair of pants to actually get a copy of the single that only has two tracks on it.

Definitely not worth my money.

I'm sure I can get a copy of it on one of the oh-so-popular, file-sharing programs.

I got mad Love for Madonna, Mad Love for Missy, the commercials are off the hook. Can't wait to hear the whole song.

I loved the song into the groove, I remember seeing the movie that song was in, "Desperately seeking Susan"....lol movies were so simple back then.
