Hey, Did you hear Madonna new song called ''Die Another Day'' It’s has freestyle beats. It’s awesome song. I love it. It sounds like something Lil Suzy will do. This not the first time Madonna does freestyle beats I thought her first album was kind of freestyle. I hope one day a big star like Madonna does a freestyle Album.

I heard she was supposed to have made one put never got released. Jellybean was the producer. I wonder if that unreleased album will ever surface. Who's that Girl was the really the only freestyle song that she did.

I heard the song and yes it does sound like a freestyle song. I love it. You can download it at www.madonnapower.com I think Madonna early remixes sound like freestyle and your right Madonna first album does sound like freestyle.I too wish a big star does a frrestyle album.

yeah i heard it and im loving it
props to madonna she is amazing....

Madonna's new single does NOT sound like Freestyle. It sound's a little more like "Music" and a few other songs on the album, which is more of a Euro Trip-Hop beat, to say the least. You people put the term Freestyle on anything that sounds like anything but! "Who's that Girl", Freestyle?! Nah, not even close. If you compare that song with any other Freestyle song, they are so different from one another. I'm a big fan of Madonna's music and nothing that I've heard to date sounds like Freestyle. The first album may have paved the way for Freestyle tracks to later come, but only "Angel" and "Dress You Up" can be mistaken for Freestyle only to the "new" ear.

True, the record is the breakbeat bomb!

is doing well in miami.

But its not so much of a surprise to some of us old skoolers, as madonna originally grew out of the new york club scene in the early 80's. and the music of that time was early freestyle and break dancing records.(shanonesque period).

Her early material was prodominantly freestyle or freestyle driven :
"Bordedrline", "lucky star" "get into the groove" and especailly
"Everybody". also include her vocals on the freestyle classic "side walk talk".

alot of people compared her at the time with alisha, although if im correct alisha was already established.

everything from her (madonna) early sound to the way she dressed expressed the flavor of the streets of that time. that early freestyle flavor, leather n lace, teased hair and huge crosses and rosaries.

she even did her first shows in the bigest freestyle and gay clubs of that time.

and it all started when she actually went to the club jellybean was spinning and snuck her tape in there, while he was mixing.

its no surprise to see if more and more of yesturdays artist start doing more breaks and also add a lil old skool freestyle/80's influences in their music. not only in the music, but the fashion that goese with it.

thats what is going on now, popin n lockin to the new freestyle.
its just good to see people like madonna ,jellybean and others opening up to it again.

talk about freestyle breaks.... check out Diana fox's new song "where are you now".

Thank you Carlito's Way! "Die Another Day" can be classified more like electronica or break-beat dance....but freestyle? Nope. C'mon peeps, wake up and smell the bustello. This track or any other song Madonna has done, does not have a freestyle vibe. Yeah, she has toyed with Latin percussion in some of her earlier tracks, but that doesn't make them freestyle.

i believe the term used was "freestyle friendly"

Dress you up and Angel are nowhere close to being Freestyle. As a matter of fact in 1987, Madonna was part of the Latin pop Explosion going on at the time, meaning Freestyle even though it was not labeled that back then.

ok yesterday afternoon madonnas new song premiered on the freestyle/dance station up here...the dj that introduced it said it sounded like a 80s, like a michael jackson type song, with a freestyle/breakbeat feel to it...him in a way i think it sounds more futuristic...

Well I think it does sound like freestyle. If you listen to Lil Suzy music and other freestyle music it kind of does sound like Madonna new song. And Madonna New songs do not sound like electronic.

OKAY, ..okay, ....
It's not exactly Freestyle, but it does have an 80's Dance/Club vibe, with a future-istic twist.

THERE!

lol.

& Although mostly involved in "Pop" & the early "Breakdance" scene in the early 80's,
some of her Jamz did pave the way for our precious freestyle music. "Into The Groove" & some of her remixes to it & others by the Latin Rascals, etc, ....we're definately Freestyle.

....YA!

If George Lamond,Tka, collage, Lil Suzy or another freestyle artist sing "die another day" it would be freestyle or progressive freestyle. But it's Maddonna haha. That's make it a non-freestyle song. Hey freestyle is not only old school beat or a group of artists. Think in a futuristic(progressive way). Thanks.

Hey Pino. You’re so right about that I’m glad someone else thought it too. It’s true if Suzy or judy Torres sang that song it would be a freestyle song.

euro dance sounds totally different the song sounds like soemthign different it does not sound like freestyle it has some freestyle elements/feeling to it
lasgo, sylver, milk inc, silverblue etc are euro dance and this song doesnt even sound similar to these...

At least fro us up here in Canada; it is FREESTYLE; it is #4 on the frenzy! Good stuff from Madonna and great for the continued exposure of our sound in Canada!
