LIZ, WE WERE INVITED BY THE RADIO STATION THAT WE WERE THERE DOIN A SHOW FOR. NO, NOT ALOT OF DEATH HEADS THERE, THAT WAS THE BEGINNING OF HIS GANGSTA IMAGE..LIAR,NAH, I'VE BEEN BLESSED WITH A GREAT CAREER WITH ALOT OF GREAT MEMORIES, AND THANKS TO PEOPLE LIKE FREEJACK AND GUIDO, I CAN RE-APPRECIATE THE THINGS I'VE EXPERIENCED, AND ALLOW THEM TO, JUST LIKE FREEJACK MEETING LEWIS MARTINEE', HIS GRATITUDE TO ME FOR SETTING THAT UP, MAKES ME FEEL LIKE ALL THE AGGRAVATION I ENDURED IN THIS BUSINESS WAS WORTH IT. AND LIZ, IF I'M GONNA LIE, IT'LL BE FOR A GOOD REASON.. HAVE A BLESSED DAY...

no scott- plz don't take it the wrong way
it wasn't meant to offend..
I found it funny- that Hammer starting his "hard core" image would have 2 normal guys at his house....

Liz I too am doubtful of anything that walks on 2 feet since we don't live in a perfect world but i can assure you that when Scotman talks there is no bullshit involved. He knows and has given others the oppurtunity to get to know many!!

I wasn't callin him a liar........ 🙁

it's not my nature to flat out call someone a liar.......

You know, I asked Mickey Garcia a question close to the one you asked...what I wanted to know is why is it that R&B and Pop and Rap artists get so much recognition but the Freestyle artists who by all accounts got played on the radio stations and did many performances are not nominated for or invited to any of the award shows? I'm sure they have received some recognition at certain functions within the business but why not the same coverage as is shown on the major TV stations, like for the Grammy's? Where the hell is freestyle's damn statue? There are plenty of catagories for winners...
Best DJ

Best Freestyle artist - Female
Best Freestyle artist - Male
Best Freestyle song of 2003
Freestyle artist of the Millenium
etc... any more ideas for catagories?
I think it's time we picked Freestyle up by it's boot straps and get to steppin on the powers that be who can make things happen!!
Now who would that be?
Any comments?

Heartbrake,
I'm curious to know what was Mickey's response to your question. Will you share his answer with us?

Unfortunately it all comes down to $$$..50 cent sold a few more million records than, let's say,TKA...Some Freestyle Artists have hasd one charted hit single, whereas the rappers we are talking about have had at least one multi platinum selling ALBUM..Therefore, more money coming in from sales... Jay-z can sell out the Garden, We get 3,000 once a year at the Copa. Rap is so widespread that it can seel out in small towns across Americe..we have Chicago, Boston and Ny..A freestyle awards show broadcast on National TV may do ok in some Markets, but unfortunately not Nationally...So, we do what we do with the music we love, for the people who enjoy it,

LaBettyBoop, Scotman pretty much summed up what Mickey said. And by the way Scotman, your last sentence was the raw reality of Freestyle.."we do what we do with the music we love, for the people who enjoy it". And I agree that it should ALWAYS be about the ART and not the recognition. (Although of course that is a plus!) I just feel that after all these years freestyle should be recognized! The artists and DJs and Producers who have given us the songs that makes us remember a time in our lives that was special should be given a token of their fans appreciation. All we need is one NEW freestyle off the hook get the hell out of here song to bring us back into the light. And I know there is someone on this site sitting on just that song..
come out come out wherever you are!!!!!

Yeah heartbrake!!! When are you going to finally release that hit song that will put freestyle back on the scene. LOL Hey mama, your going to have to put your part in this business too. We need some of your stuff too and pronto!

whats really sad is that were in the most famous place in the world and the birthplace of our beloved music and we cant get it moving again! :sosad
