ok here is the deal, my brother and I haven't spent NY together in quiet a few years, so he wants me to go to his place for New Years Eve, so hear is my problem, I will be working that day till about three pm, his place is 2 1/2 hours away from me, traffic will probably be insane that day, adn they are not really doing anything just waiting for the new year to come in. If I jsut want to sit in a house I will stay home with my boys and celebrate ourselves.

Now I was also invited to my childhood friends house, she lives an hour away in clearwater, they will be having a big party. What would you guys do? now keep in mind my sister in law and I had it out, well I had it out..lol I don't want my kids to be board on New Years Eve either.

What are your opinions on this?

Dang! That is a tough one! I gotta think about this but my first instinct is to tell you to go to the party cuz the boys would have more fun. And you too! LOL 🙂

But family...its hard to tell you to outright refuse him but maybe you can make plans to see them the next day cuz like you said...traffic is gonna be bad and you are farther away from him then your friend.

Naya, is your friends place in between you and your brothers place? Maybe you could all go to the party and it would cut down on traveling for both you and your brother, it would be a neutral place (sis in law situation) and you would all be together. Not sure if that is an option. If not, just make the excuse that you don't want to drive too far that night for obvious reasons, but you will call your brother at midnight.
Whatever you do, bring in the New Year with a smile on your face and a song in your heart!

thanks everyone. I would bring my bro with me, cause he knows vivian and her fam, but he doesn't want to be out of the house.
Krystal, yeah i want the boys to have fun, since they went through alot of changes in the last couple of months.

Heartbrake, it's further away from him, it would be an extra hour of driving, so I know he wont' want to go, but I think I will do what you said, whatever it is have a smile on my face and a song in my heart.
and a corona in my hand..j/k bello!😉
Thanks😉

I would tell my brother that I work til 3pm, traffic is going to be crazy, they're not having a party and I don't want the kids to get bored. Then I'll tell him that I was invited to my friends house and it sounds good. And since she's only an hour away, I can deal with that. Then of course, I would've asked my friend BEFORE talking to my brother if it's okay to bring him along. If yes, then I'd invited him to come along with us.

go to the friends house. tell your brother sorry but you dont want to fight and being by his wife will stir up trouble.

bete pal Party Cono.... He'll understand call him at midnite go see him New Years day...

Now sing that song in your heart use that smile on your face and go drink 6 Coronas through a funnel you feel much better. :cheers

ok I will go to my friends house and chill there with the kids, then go visit my brother on the weekend. I take him some pasteles and he'll be happy🙂

Nyasia- I think you made the right decision. 🙂

It's New Years Eve. To some people it's a good time to celebrate, to others it doesn't have any meaning. Personally, I'd want to welcome the New Year with a good time and house parties are the way to go. Always. And I'm sure the boys would rather be there than sitting on a couch, watching TV, looking at the clock every 15 minutes! Hah!

I would tell him you have the opportunity to ring in the New Year with an old friend, and that you dont want to hurt his feelings...would you mind if he went to that and perhaps spend New Years Day with him, if you are both availible. To me New Years Eve is for partying....NY Day more of a day to do the family thing. Either way....enjoy!!

I agree with you Latinaheat... when all else fails, ask our kids opinion! lol

Either way, I know you'll do what you feel is right and comfortable for you and your kids without hurting anyones feelings.
