I tell them so often

sometimes I don't even realize

when I'm telling the truth



Lies

I am told them so often

sometimes I don't even know

who to believe



Lies

because of them

we doubt

truth

and honesty



Lies

because of these

we convict the innocent

and let the guilty run free



We accept lies for truth

until we find out

that they were

lies



But by then

it's too late
