Angie, glad you keeping it together on here. I'm not a big fan of hip hop after 1992, but the best hip hop tracks to me will always be RUN DMC/Aerosmith-Walk This Way and Beastie Boys-Fight For Right to Party for the reason that those tracks are the reason why Hip Hop is the world wide phenomenom it is today. Hip Hop is why my favorite Rock band Linkin Park is hot with their awesome heavy guitar riffs with Mike Shindona rhyming and great scratch turntable riffs. Hip Hop has redefine mainstream music as we know it. Even Britney and Nsuck has The Nptunes produce tracks for them.

so if Hip hop can do it and rock can do it hell even country music did it with (Reba and KRS I think it was)why are we selling freestyle short? If you don't experiment with it, how will we know the potential it might have? and if it doesn't work, then we go back to the old or the new or whatever, but at least give it a chance to go as far as it can go, and the only way this can happen is if it is integrated with other genres.

Look at Thalia her new song the Mexican! awesome song, but what makes it awesome? the sample of the mexican under her vocals, and her being a mexican artist using old school latin hiphop samples, hmm if they sought out the mexican,maybe they'll seek out TKA samples, Safire Samples, Judy Samples , George samples and so on and so on...lol

Sexyangel, I agree....Linkin Park rocks!!! Naya, I think it was KLF and the late Tammy Wynette with "Justified and Ancient" back in 91....all I remember about that track is 'MOO MOO LAND' LOL!!!
 
But that goes with everything, every song, gets played out and new ones come in. it's the way of the radio, you know that smooth, you've been around for a while too, that will never change.

I hear you. But dance music as a whole in todays age sucks. It's not going to buy you a brand new Lexus or a condo on the beach. Believe me; been there and done that. Get signed with a corporation that represents major companies that you can do work for and get paid. I'm doing it. If you want me to tell you more holla at me with a PM. I love my freestyle Naya but it aint paying the bills, putting gas in my cars, and taking care of my condo. Until shit changes I gotta do what I gotta do. Wherever the $$$$$ at I'm there. trust no one knows better than me how freestyle don't pay the bills, but isn't this site and this thread itself to support it? to try to come up with answers to make it strong again, if it ever can be?.. Dance music right now is kicking ass,all you hear is hiphop and dance. I never relied on this industry to set me up for life,(I always worked) because to think that would be very ignorant, but I do like it and from my part I have to do what I can to see if it will go anywhere.
