Hmm...u guys that express such hatred for hip hop really don't know the roots of Freestyle music. Sorry but tracks like "Together Forever", "Temptation", "Love Me Tonight", "Funk Boutique", "Should've Never Let You Go", the list could go on & on. All these tracks borrowed some fairly common dj loops from what was popular in hip hop music at that time. In fact Frankie Cutlass who was the man behind "Love Me Tonight" (Cynthia) was not only a huge hip hop d.j. but he also had his own hip hop lp, "Politics & Bullshyt"😱
The Cover Girls borrowed the main loop from yes, a HIP HOP group.
Not to mention artists like Lisette Melendez, Cynthia, & Safire who've had rappers bust a rhyme on their tracks, or even do it themselves.😉 U must really hate that!
To say that pairing hip hop and freestyle is a ridiculous idea is ridiculous! It's been going on since the inception! This is why it was called "Latin HIP HOP" from the start! Don't u get it? It was only changed to "Freestyle" when it became more popular. "Latin hip hop" was just a title that was too ethnic & too ghetto for mainstream. But that's what it is and that where it came from! Just keepin' it real.

I will call this shyt LATIN HIP HOP TIL I DIE!!!!!!
 
Yo, I stated a thread like this one not to far back. And got crazy hatred from some old school freestyle fans. Now I'm in studio trying to fuse my love for hip hop and freestyle together. Maybe some will like it, maybe they wont. But I'm givin' this herrre a try.

Freejack I did tell him to cut the shit out., all this thread was created for, was for people to give there opinions on hiphop and freestyle mixed together, not to fling insults at each other, if I am wrong then I apologize sweetheart, but it is not up to me to allow or not allow anything on this board. It sure wasn't my intention to get either one of you riled up or feeling bad. Now can we get back to the subject at hand?

Well I am back and i see the BS is still goning on when I as well as Naya and the other members here asked to please refrain from using name calling etc etc we were asking anyone. Free no one is making it a big deal we just ask that the post remain a discussion about the music not about personal attacks I am not speaking to you directly but to everyone who has participated in the name calling its uncalled for people. OK so now onto the topic at hand lol. Everyone has given some real good imput and as I said I wish more people would have posted or will post and state there opinin there ground. I am for trying something new and I say Hip-hop/R&B because it is more main stream then anything out there and they are the one genre that have ventured off into collabos with other genres and look what it has done for those artist. It is like when Bounty Killer & No doubt did that song together I think its the one called "Hella good" I cant remember lol but in any case there was a scene in the video where one of No doubts members runs by nekked as buju is singing something etc etc. Buju wasnt going to do the song because of what people in his homeland would say and his ongoing rivalry with another artist but he was like F*** it its going to bring attention to reggae and on top of that it would get him known all over just for doing the track with No doubt. The neptunes as well as Dr. dre did some tracks with HIp-hop beats for the group but they were never finished in time so were not on the album shit even Prince did some vocals on one of there songs. My point in breaking that down was that we got to take chances we need to blend FS with something and once we have bring it home full blown to FS. I know its a hard concept for many die hard fans to except but think about all the attention it could bring FS what one track with an FS artist and a Hip-Hop artist/R&B artist could do for FS. It would take the right blend of artist to make this happen. Some have stated Hip-hop is the root of FS that they refer to it as Latin hip hop why not take it from there work with it from there. There are so many Hip-Hop artist who grew up on FS you would be amazed there. As I stated before it would bring so much attention to FS another little example sowwy Ty lol but at the moment Tybless is currently working on his album a Hip-Hop album we all know his work within the FS industry and when he takes Hip Hop by storm people will want to know where Tybless came from his background his music history etc and what will they find my CF familia. All in all I think we need to try something because doing what has been done has not brought FS back to the forefront the way so many want it to. FS is alive in our hearts more then any other place, but take a look at the artist htat have moved on that continue to move on. LEts try something 🙂
