I believe that we the artists, and fans should flood the radio stations that promote Freestyle with requests to create a stir. If multiple requests are received, then the radio stations will see that there definitely exists a market for Freestyle and that there is hunger amongst Freestyle fans. This in turn will result into higher ratings for the radio stations. So let’s call up the radio stations that support Freestyle!!!!!! Here are the numbers to two NYC radio stations…Please feel free to add any in your area….
KTU 103.5FM 1-800-245-1035
LATINO MIX 105.9FM 1-888-684-1059

Thanks for the great support and REQUEST …..REQUEST….REQUEST!!!!!

Always,
CARAMELO

great idea but we also got to support the events when there is a freestyle concert people got to go buy tickets right away so shows get sold out right away to let the bussinessmen know that there is money to be made.

tru dat! and when they see the phone lines get flooded that would mean more radio play for freestyle at any time and when the tickets get sold out for the shows at the clubs whats next, madison square garden or nassau colliseum? bigger arena for bigger freestyle concerts :yeah baby :yeey

After all is said and done, it is the FANS who decide what music that they choose to listen to...So let's get crackin'!

Peace and God Bless..
Always,
CARAMELO

Other artists and members have posted threads like this to support freestyle in the airwaves. Now...I don't know if much was inflicted to the stations to get the message across but we must do this together!!! And in BIG MEMBER QUANTITY!

Yo Caramelo what can I say ..KTU...makes me want to cry..no pun intended. I wasn't going to post this cause I hate writing long posts that in the end others may not give a shit about.
Yesterday at 5 I got off work in rare form after an extremely stressful day, I took my shotgun :nutz....I mean I turned the radio on and what was on KTU?? some stupid ass song by Luther Vandross."Dancing with my boyfriend" or something.
At the moment KTU was my after-work stress relieving victim. I called them up and ask "what was that last song you just played?" After the guy told me the name I said "good don't play it anymore,it sucks!!" When he asked who and where I was I told him to get some Freestyle on the radio. I wish James Anthony would read this.
"Let me have you talk to the Freestyle guy" he said. To make a long story short some clown with a fake tough-guy "jerky boy" style voice carried on a pretend argument with me so I played along insisting he get some Freestyle on the radio. Then he said "I'll let Dj James Anthony know about it" Laughing at his ignorance I brought to his attention that I know James Anthony personally and that they should get him spinning the Freestyle on the radio instead of playing the shit they do.In the end he agreed they would..I have yet to see that. Oh and did I mention that I shouted out Clubfreestyle???
:spin :spin

quote from Manny:

and what the fans can do to help our music, such as a chain of fans who will call 24 hours a day to request freestyle music, station by station,

Great idea,

One of the ideas I think we should speak about at the conference.

Peace,
Manny

Just one correction to Latin Nations Post:

"CPR, Jesus The Juice, and Lou at 90.1 Club House Dance in Springfield, MA (Thursday 8pm-10pm and Fridays 8pm-12am)"

It's not 90.1FM....it's 90.7FM WTCC, which I think needs to go to 24/7 as far as playin' freestyle goes. 😉

If you are in the Amsterdam, NY area such as the Capital district and Mohawk Valley make your request on the "Friday Freestyle Fix" Latin Explosion WBUG 1570 AM friday nights from 9pm til 10 pm with El Boricua as your host 😉

With all due respect, I don't think there is anything else that can possibly be done, bro.

I mean, how many times has this topic come up? Numerous times.

And where is Freestyle today? In the same condition it was 5 years ago.

Do you really think radio stations give two shits about what "we" want to hear? Not really.

We can only do so much. I'll continue to support any concert and artist out there, but I'm tired of the request-line drama and everything associated with radio.

Let's be thankful for stations like Latino Mix 105.9, La Mega 97.9, KTU 103.5, and Star 93.7 in Boston.

If you really want to try & make a difference....don't bother calling the request lines!!! For the most part, a lot of the on air jocks will not relay the info to those that can make a difference. If you really want to speak to someone that can actually do something about it, get a hold of the program director or music director. They are the ones in charge of programming the music on the radio! They are the ones who can say yes we'll play some more/less/new freestyle. Find out who they are from each station, e-mail them...make sure you call during their on air shift (if they have one). Don't waste your time calling just anyone. I've seen it happen many times where a listener calls in & the Jock says..."Ok I'll play your song in a bit" & they hang up. The caller gets all excited & waits for their request & the Jock just forgets about the call & goes on to the next one not giving a damn about what you just requested because they have NO CONTROL over the stations playlist. I'm lucky enough to have TOTAL FREEDOM of what to play on my 3 hour shift. Not many on air jocks can say that.

I REMEMBER WHEN I WORKED AS THE DJ WHO SPUN THE FREESTYLE AND WE
PLAY WHATEVER WE WANTED AND THEN THEY CAME IN ONE DAY AND SAID HERE IS A LIST OF SONGS FOR TONIGHTS SHOW AND WE LOOKED AT THEM AND SAID WHAT LIST AND THEY THIS IS THE FORMAT FOR THE STATION FOR NOW ON. IN OTHER WORDS THEY WANTED TO PLAY WHAT THEY THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO HEAR AND THIS IS SO VERY WRONG AND BAD FOR THIS BIZZ PERIOD... I MYSELF STAYED TRUE TO MY ROOTS AND WALKED AND HAVE NOT LOOKED BACK AND IT'S BEEN OVER 13 YEARS NOW. SO IF THEY DON'T PLAY IT CHANGE THE STATION
AND DON'T SUPPORT THEIR RATINGS UNTIL THEY PLAY IT... YOU NEED TO GET EVERYONE TO LOG ONTO THE SITE AND THE STATION ITSELF AND BOOST THE RATINGS WHEN FREESTYLE IS ON AND TURN IT OFF WHEN IT'S NOT SO THEY SEE THIS WHEN THEY REVIEW THEIR RATINGS TO SET ADVERTISING PRICING FOR THE FISCAL QUARTER.. THEY WILL TAKE NOTICE OF THE SPIKES AND ASK WHAT IS BEING PLAYED DURING THOSE TIME PERIODS AND THEN YOU HAVE THEIR ATTENTION BECAUSE THEY SEE MONEY TO BE MADE OFF OF THIS AND THEY WILL TELL THEM HERE IS A LIST OF SONGS TO PLAY TODAY AND THIS TIME IT WILL BE FREESTYLE AND WE WILL RULE AGAIN...........

I remember when CLUB FREESTYLE did something that NO OTHER SITE could have done before (and still hasn't):

We all rallied together and bombarded the request lines for SaFire & Cynthia's song "CAN YOU STAND THE RAIN" and we kept it going for a long time.

No other site has ever done that. CF was the FIRST.

CAN'T FORGET THE CLUBFREESTYLE PRIMETIME FREESTYLE SHOW WITH DJ FRANK CEE ON WEDS 8-10 ONLY ON CF, THERE IS NEW MATERAIL BEING PLAYED THERE, ALSO ARTIST PM ME ON HOW TO GET YOUR MUSIC I WOULD LOVE TO PLAY IT, I ALWAYS SUPPORT THE ARTIST WHO PUT THERE TIME, EFFORT, AND LOVE INTO THERE MUSIC..

Your show is slammin where else can you hear New school artist such as Ashley , Nu Image , Etc @ a Major Radio outlet Like Jamz 1067.

Keep pumping it .

KTU's music day is on Wednesday...I have yet to see any new school freestyle label go to KTU programming with any material.

You guys can bitch and complain all you want that radio ignores new freestyle, and you can call the request line til youre blue in the face, but if the station doesn't have the material, its not going to get played.

Someone from the label has to get up and get over to Jersey City and pitch their product to the programming people. This is true not only of KTU, but any other radio station.

You can't just sit on a project and hope that the handful of supporters will do the legwork. I would LOVE to see some new school people up at the station with all the other label people bringing their CD's in. But until then, nothing will get done
