i guess than they left a true "legacy," a legacy that crime doesnt pay

i sound like mcgruff the crime dog hahaha 🙄

What happened to Legacy??

Well it is true ...that Legacy did get into trouble and will no longer be able to participate in the music business...its sad cuz they had some tight jamz...but one of them is out and lives on the south side...he is intending to begin a career in rap...

Mario, I told you gangbangers listened to Freestyle. Plus they even sing it in some cases.

SOUTHSIDE CHI-TOWN!

i never thought freestyle was listened to by gang bangers.......i thought hip hop was the choice by many.........but you learn many things these days

thanks MYD

Anytime Fellow PIMP. 😎

Actually Juanie is still up in Little Village. I think he is working on Latin Rap. Last I heard.

WHo Said They Were Gangbangers *Knodding Head* 😱

This is the deal with Legacy (cuz my friends knew them personally). Two went to jail for attempted murder (if I remember right), Juanie goes by the name J-Love and he flows (hip hop, I seen him last year perform ). Yeah they gang banged (one of them *no names mentioned* moved on my boy's cousin thinking he was a rival).

I personally know Juanie & his cousin Dove who also sings Freestyle. They got locked up for MURDER. Not attempted but str8 up MURDER. I ain't getting into specifics. CASE CLOSED!

Elear in the city of CHI you are either one of 2wo thangs. You are either a GangBanger or a Gay. That's just how the hood is.
Plus I know alot of Bangers that their brothers were gay. So it is just messed up out there.

C'mon, Chaos...Gangbanger or gay?

I'm neither...

Maybe there is a gay gang out there? Imagine that!

We probably should get into the specifics regarding Jesse and Javi. I gave them strong support while they were on trial, but eventually they were found guilty. At the time I interviewed Jesse's sister Cynthia and together we promoted a fud-raiser for their defense fund, but the legal system prevailed.

I remember callers trying to convince me at the time that the boys from East Chicago Indiana were gangbangers, but since I knew them from the get, I was in denial.

To their credit, when they performed, did radio shows and autograph sessions, they represented themselves well and said all of the right things. Unfortunately, just as they were about to make their biggest noise, they got a little greedy.

There is a lesson to be learned...everyone in Chicago thought that Legacy was making big money and were about to jump to the Mic Mac label for a bigger payday. As in other Freestyle stories, the truth was that they were barely making any money off of their records and had to make do with performance fees, which in most cases Chicago promoters didn't want to pay them because they weren't from New York and their name wasn't spelled TKA.

Anyhow, there was no excuse for what Jesse and Javi wound up doing. A life was lost (he was a son and a father) and "foreign substances" claimed two young Latino lives as they contemplate about 60 years in sentencing.

As it says in my signature catch phrase..."If you're going to put your foot down..."

The Boys of Legacy happened to put theirs down in the wrong place and at the wrong time.

Sound like material for "Beyond The Music".
