It's sad to see what has been up with what many thought was a Hip Hop, R&B future treasure. I hear the legendary Donnie Simpson monday morning here on WPGC talk about a free concert That Lauryn Hill was giving up in some park in NYC. What I heard was not good. The talk was Lauryn had 6000 people waiting a whole hour for her to come out on stage. When she finally came on stage, she was sporting a 60's doo wop wig. She was rambling on for 20 miniutes of total nonsence. She was forgetting the words to her own songs. At the sudden end she went on an anti war tyrant and just walked off stage. The crowd left with a confused feeling. How about that?

She made one of the best Hip Hop/R&B albums ever: Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. She had it going on. But after a mixed reviewed Lauryn Hill MTV Unplugged, she just dissapeared.

I liked her in NAS' If I ruled The World, she added a nice touch to the song

I saw her not too long ago on a music channel. I think she left USA cause that is not where her heart lies at.

Stupid.

If you're gonna do a show, give the audience what they want.
Exactly...for that don't do a show...free or not...for that she should have stayed wherever country she decided to run away to...

I agree...thats a slap to the face on her fans. :mad

LOL

There is also a controversey to why she just fell off. There was a report that Steve Marley sued Lauren Hill, she was claiming she wrote and co produced all of her Miseducation of Lauren Hill: Album. He wrote most of the songs.

Thats sad she is truly a great singer one of the most talented and one of those artist who will always be remembered because of her talent. She has had a lot of shit happen in her personal life and its dictated how she has gone on its a dayum shame.

Hold up!

Let me clarify some things here.

The show wasn't in NYC. If I'm not mistaken, it was in Georgia and VIBE was hosting/sponsoring the concert with other artists such as Amerie, Faith Evans, T.I., Common, Keyshia Cole and a few others. When Lauryn Hill was announced to come on stage to perform her set, she was sporting a 60's-style hairdo, with some funky wardrobe to accompany. Having not recorded anything in the recent years, she performed hits from the "Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill" (which is one of the best f**kin' albums). Her voice was off......her presence on stage was eratic.

So anyway, as she walks off stage after her set, the crowd didn't clap, nor cheer. It was like they didn't know what the f**k to do! Basically, everyone was in shock or awe. Was this THE Lauryn Hill?!

The Fugees are making a comeback. Lauryn Hill is working on her next album. But she's gonna have to perfect her image and her voice if she expects this shit to drop like "Miseducation".

As for taking a break from the recording industry- it's evident. If you are into Lauryn Hill's music as much as I am, I suggest you pick up her last album, Lauryn Hill 2.0 It's an acoustic album, recorded at the MTV studios, that's a window into her life at the time. She talks about a lot of shit. Deep shit. So don't expect some hot beats. Expect tears. Laughter. That's Lauryn Hill. And the one thing that stands out on that album that she talks about is the murder of the black kid from the Bronx that was shot 41 times by 6 police.

I'm def. waiting for her to drop some new shit. Can't wait.

Wow, we got another side to this story!! I hope somebody do apice on this concert(wherever it was!!LOL). I hope lauren Hill has not completely went down hill. She was becoming R&B and Hip Hop!
