A Midnight’s Prayer
I pray this now for the one I love, to keep him in my heart.
Father I thank you for sending me this overwhelming gift, and I beg you to never let us part
Lord I ask you to keep him safe, and watch over him tonight
For he means the world to me you see, so please keep danger out of sight.
You know my heart is only his, even though our love is new
So in my prayer I ask for your guidance and leave it all up to you.
So many say to give up on it all, claiming that they know.
I ask for your help, to stand firm and let fate show.
If this is meant to be, somehow you will make it so
But if by chance it is not your will, God give me the strength to let him go.
Sorry to take so much of your time, you must have so much to do.
