I had read a very interesting article on Lady Gaga recently. Here's the link:

I guess that explains why so many of her songs sound like dance music laced with rock. And that's not something you see too often if at all. I remember back in the 90s when the rock crowd wasn't exactly respectin' dance music's gangsta too much, lol. Just from a musical angle viewing from that perspective, Lady Gaga crossed lines that I haven't really seen too many peeps even consider.

Historically speakin there usually isn't a whole lot of artist development within dance music but she is one of the few that was able to and that might partly explain her quick rise to fame (once she crossed over into the mainstream, she stood out even more as there aren't too many dance music artists who are able to do that).

One of her best songs if u ask me is freestyle influenced. Case in point -

Very very freestyle. And it's not just the instrumental but the harmony she starts off singin' her verses on. That part is like straight up old school freestyle. The parts where they keep sampling "he ate my heart" is also a very freestyle type of thing to put in the production but then by the chorus she's singing as if it's hard rock and that's what I was pointing out with my last post. She gets more rock with it than in this song. I remember how in "No Way" the drum sequencing was very freestyle and then in the chorus there was rock instruments that came in. Nyasia had some stuff like that on her album that came out earlier this year.
