yes, but for only 1 hour, and that is being generous because they never play a full hour of freestyle.

I know KTU plays twice as much freestyle as LATINOMIX.

I'M ONLY GONNA POINT OUT THE GOOD IN THIS DILEMMA OF PICKING A STATION....ONE PLAYS ALOT DURING THE DAY WHILE THE OTHER ONE PLAYS IT FOR CERTAIN TIME SLOT SO ENJOY BOTH SO YOU GET THE NEW AND THE OLD AND IF KTU SEE'S A FOLLOWING DEVELOP OR A CHAnge IN RATINGS, THEY MIGHT TRY NEW SCHOOL OR A LUNCH HOUR MIX OF FREESTYLE......
MY CHOICE IS SIMPLE: WHY SUPPORT SOMEONE WHO WAS BUILT ON THE FREESTYLE CULTURE AND NOW DOESN'T PAY ATTENTION TO IT EXCEPT A SELECT FEW SONGS.....WITHOUT THE FANS , THERE IS NO REVENUE FROM COMMERCIALS SO I CHOSE NOT TO LISTEN TO THE RADIO IN PHILLY A LONG TIME AGO......I'M TRUE TO MY ROOTS AND A HARDCORE FAN FROM THE BEGINNING OF THIS FREESTYLE OR BREAKBEAT DANCE AS IT WAS KNOWN
AND THE DILEMMA ON DISCO IS THE FACT THAT IT JUST REINVENTED ITSELF AS HOUSE MUSIC AND I'M TIRED OF RAP MUSIC PERIOD.......IT LACKS FLAVOR

you know very well that not every freestyle/LATINO fan listens to that station. In fact, they never heard of it. & yes, ive asked people on long island, spanish and italian. The guys that work for me dont even listen to latinomix: they listen to LA MEGA.

Kenny we cool and I hope you are not taking what anyone writes about KTU on the internet too personal. Do you work for them now? LOL Kenny I dont know about your co-workers or friends but, as far as the people I run into who listen to freestyle and latin music, they do know what Latinomix is and tune into the Freestyle flashback show. I go to physical therapy and in my therapist's office I hear latinomix playing at 12 noon. And yes KTU as well. Yes LaMega is a bigger station, but lets not drag them into this topic. They dont play freestyle anymore. LOL I love KTU.. The day KTU first aired again I stood up all night listening to that HeartBeat waiting for them to start until I heard C&C's "Everybody Dance Now" I was the happiest guy that morning. And I know your topic wasnt about who plays newschool more. But look at the votes... I dont think anyone really cares who plays more Freestyle. (20 total votes) LOL
They are both great stations. And I wish Latinomix gave Freestyle more airtime then just 1 hour a day. But its just the beginning. Lets not down any station. They both play freestyle. We should all be happy for that. I keep seeing freestyle divided too much on these boards. Oldschool vs. New school, KTU vs. LatinoMix, Clubfreestyle.com vs. LatinFreestyle.com, artist vs artist, fan vs. fan, fan vs. artist, its just too crazy. Freestyle will never be respected the way we divide ourselves. Its sad... Lets just enjoy what we all agree with, our love for this music.....

Willie, its cool. weve known each other for a long, long time. Im certainly not trying to start a fight between the 2 stations. we dont need that, especially in this day and age. We have great people working for both stations and I admire and respect that the most. I dont want to see the 2 stations clashing between each other. I know Latinomix is a smaller station and it will soon reach out here on long island. Im glad because the rest of the island will get to hear more new freestyle.

the guys that work for me havent been in the country long and they have never heard of "freestyle" an when i play it during the day, they simply laugh. they dont get the same feeling as I do. I try to tell them that thier latinos also and they should "respect". I tell them that many of the people they listen to like La India, were once huge freestyle artists. I enjoy teaching them. will they remember it? I dont know, but at least i try!

one day, if you see me with a bunch of crazy guatamalins and ecuadoians, you will know i bought my boys with me for the show!

Like I said, Latinomix could use a wider audience out here on long island. there are plenty of people out here that dont know "freestyle" outside what KTU plays. It would be a great asset here.

who knows, maybe we will be able to book more freestyle acts on long island once again and my business would "BOOM"!

EXACTLY WILLIE AND THIS DRAMA KILLS OUR BIZZ AND MUSIC AND THIS IS BASICALLY A DRAMA THREAD....
WHAT SURPRISES ME THOUGH IS THE FACT THAT THE "#1 STATION" IN THE "#1 MARKET" ONLY HAS 75 TO 100 FREESTYLE RECORDS IN THEIR LIBRARY TO PICK FROM.....
(THIS IS MENTIONED BY SOMEONE WHO WORKS THERE IN ANOTHER POST).....
THIS IS SAD AND DISAPPOINTING TO HEAR CONSIDERING "NY" IS MOST LIKELY THE "#1 MARKET" FOR FREESTYLE AND MOST OF THE ARTIST/S AND PRODUCER/S AND THE RECORD LABEL/S COME FROM "NY"...
