I READ ELSEWHERE THAT LATINOMIX PLAYS BY FAR MORE FREESTYLE THAN KTU.

I don't think so.

why?

LATINOMIX plays doesnt play freestyle throughout the day like KTU.

LATINOMIX plays thier freestyle from 12pm to 1pm. The time alloted to freestyle isnt even filled with freestyle. you will hear house and latin rap in the mix, so its not an hours worth of freestyle.

KTU has its mixes and on the weekend, it has the JUDY TORRES SHOW with DJ JAMES ANTHONY.

To me, KTU does play the most freestyle!

I agree Kenny....KTU more during the day. BUT...Latino Mix has better mixes though. I like the Freestyle Flashback better than Judy most times. Judy tends to play the same stuff all the time. But I like listening to James Anthony too, cause he mixes it up too.
 
i am not sure. personally i dont listen to the radio unless i am in a car which is not too often. i rather listen online. and i play a variety on my station.
 
The question you should ask is...Who plays more "NEW" SCHOOL FREESTYLE?

Though I hate to admit it! Latinomix is the source for NYC

yes, but were not talking about new freestyle. I was asking who plays the most freestyle. to me, its KTU. Latinomix doesnt even play a full 5 hours of freestyle a week. they dont play anything outside thier hourly show, do they?


KTU plays freestyle throughout the day and even on the weekends.
 
KTU plays alot more freestyle but their variety is no where close to latinomix. All they play is old school. Which is not bad but If thats what they are gonna do they might as well just say old school freestyle. LOL i got love for both stations.
 
ktu needs to play new school as well and then they are giving latino mix a run, as far as old school goes ktu does play more and with that they play more freestyle period, but they should embrace the new, quality new school.. why can't some like chase -forgive me not or nu image be played, it has the poteintal just like an old school safire or cynthia tune...

what if a big disco group handed over a new disco song to the djs at HOT 97.

what do you think they would do?

laugh at it?

KTU must look at FREESTYLE the same way others looked at DISCO in the past.

Latinomix-plays A Rotation Of All Freestyle Songs When They Do Play It And They Give The New School Exposure Which Helps Keep Freestyle Alive.....but, It's At A Certain Time Each Day......

So Listen To Ktu Until The Lunch Hour On Latino Mix And Then Go Back To Ktu And After A While Maybe Ktu Will Get The Hint And Start Playing Some New Stuff Finally Or Give You A Lunch Hour Mix With Alot More Songs........because There Is So Much Freestyle Out There And Ktu's Selection Doesn't Even Scratch The Surface Of This Genre..

Also, Ultimix Said It Best Because I Play It In My Car, House, Gym, And It's 24/7 Commercial Free....

yes, but for only 1 hour, and that is being generous because they never play a full hour of freestyle.

I know KTU plays twice as much freestyle as LATINOMIX.
 
Your Right But Latinomix Plays A Lot Of New Stuff. Ktu Plays The Same Songs Over And Over Cynthia,tka,noel You Can Predict Them And Of Course Judy Torres. They Need To Move On. I Heard A Lot Of Great Songs In That Little Time On Latino Mix Including Songs From New Generation 2 And Heaven 5.

Thing about that is Freestyle has been non stop since it started. It was only abandoned by radio thats when people thought it was dead. It wasnt, because it was still being made non stop all these years to this day. Disco died and that was it. There is a big difference between the two types of music. Who makes disco songs nowadays? There is no reason why KTU should not play any new school. As long as its on a label and commercially available. And i know I am gonna read something about "well ktu doesnt hasnt recieved any new freestyle". Thats because we have been told they are not gonna play anything new. They abandoned us before we abandoned them. I'm not saying I dislike KTU but I am dissapointed. I know latinomix only plays 5 hours a week, But its a start. Its only the beginning. Its still a relatively new show. Lets see where it leads to. But we need KTU to start playing new stuff. They played Safire's new song and cynthia's also in the past. I am sure they can play a new artist with a hot freestyle track. Lets hope...
 
I Agree With Willie, Disco Was Pronounced Dead Around 80-81, Freestyle From Birth Till Now Has Still Been Around, I Know That There Was Alot Of Garbage Put Out And Yes I Even Supported That, But Something Like Chase, Nu Image, Various Stuff That Willie Put's Out, Shawn Michael, And The Most Importantly The Legends That Still Make Records Coro, Lisette And Others, Why Arent Those Being Played.. These Are Artist That We All Know And Love, Instead Of Ktu Playing Coro's Where Are You Tonight The Reggatone Remix Play Do Unto Me, Expose His New Material, Give It A Chance Let The Listener Decide What's Hot Or Not Like Hot 103/97 Used To Do, Those Guys Were Number One And Will Always Be Number Because Of The New Music They Add Weekly. Simply Put Take A Page Out Of There Book..
