For those of you in the Toronto and GTA area who use to tune into KISS 92 on a regular basis were probably scratching your heads trying to figure out what the hell were Kim Mitchell & other older rock tunes being played on the airwaves. I called up a buddy of mine from another local radio station and asked the usual ???. He told me because of a decline in listenership and ratings down 50 to 75% in the last quarter, the plug got pulled on KISS 92. The pink slips were handed out as of this morning, the station is now called JACK 92.

So all the local radio personalities got the boot and are now struggling to (re-locate) themselves quickly.

T.O is now down to 2 stations in this particular field---> 103.5 and 93.5 .

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

My second-favorite station!!!! :sosad

(#1 - Buffalo's WKSE "Kiss 98.5")

i never liked that station.

hopefully another real dance station opens up. and they have a 2 hour freestyle show to complete with tony monaco.

I always thought that bernie B did a better show on power 88.5

The JACK format works well with that demographic. We have it here in Calgary and in Vancouver; as it changed from horrible hip hop stations. Jack plays 80's, 90's and modern rock but if you listen closely in the 80's sets, you will find the odd India, Shannon, Expose', Stevie B, Taylor Dayne, Information Society, etc. sandwiched between Human League, Thompson Twins, Foreigner and INXS amongst others.

that's crazy.. holly sh*t! i never knew that... is this like a joke? i thought they were ding well.. better than z103.5!!! wow

i never listen to that station cos all they played was euro... but still.. sucks seeing toronto station go down

well i didnt listen to it much only when the radio didnt catch anything else...the djs annoyed me but whoa im SHOCKED cuz i thought they were huge...guess not dam im shocked

i'm not happy because kiss was my 2nd favourite station, at least they had decent live-to-airs on the weekends. besides now the kiss listeners might flood to z103 and request the (c)rap / pop stuff that kiss used to play. if that happens then z's screwed. 😱

i'm just happy cos there'll be no more MAD DOGG AND BILLIE posters on the subway! woohoo!

or them for that matter i found them to be ignorant and def NOT funny

what, u guys didn't think kiss 92 had the best morning show in toronto? mad-dog & billie have a way better chemistry than scott fox & dave. (plus, no way are scott fox & dave funnier than mad-dog & billie.)

well scott and dave actually know wut they are talking about...mad dog and billie were ignorant in everything they said and did and had little or no knowledge about artists...but hey thats my opinion

POWER 88.5, now that was a station!!

Who here remembers their Freestyle show hosted by Bernie B?? The show was called Club Freestyle 🙂heee nice name, huh). That show was the bomb!!!
*getting all sentimental :sadsmile *

I have not talked with Bernie for over four years now; what is he up to these days? Does he stil work at sunrise in the burbs? Is he involved in anything freestyle these days?

Kiss sucked anyway. The only station that has been good for a ges is Z103.5 If that station ever goes, then radio is dead in my heart.

Well when they first came out a few years back whenever it was I listened to it more, mind you I think it's cuz at the time 103 couldn't be reached from all radios but over the years the station just got worse and worse. All those stupid promotions, contests and djs. This station wasn't even taking a memory slot in my car, that's how much i listened to it.
