An unbelievable, Electrifying, phenomenal performance swept the Chitown

wilder and crazier than anyone had seen in a long time, and so was the
word around the crowds & promotors, etc.

Chicago was mezmerized by these young, energetic, sexy, great looking

fans their money's worth. They got to hear all of their favorite Tka hits
along with some amazing Fly Coreography. As well as the K7 Sk material
which everyone seemed to go crazy for. The guys were precise and right
on que with every step of their routine, and at the same time was clear to
see, they were Truly Enjoying themselves, and having an awesome time on stage
& interacting with the crowd. They Captivated Their Audience in every move
& every song! Awesome Job Guys!!!

The guys also looked great, the guys each had their own cool belts clips with
their stage name in diamond beeds, and they always wear these outrageous
Tees, with really cool detailed designs, each in their own individual styles! A
Big Thumbs up to mrsK7 for such a talented great job!.

taking pics, and signing everything!

I must say that it was a great feeling seeing the enourmous response the
guys received from my hometown! Chicago was so in the need of a
performance like that! And we made it happen! Thanx to Harv Roman for
believing in me, and taking it to Juan Suarez. As well as to my brother, Kay

I saw a K7 and the swing kids at a few clubs and major events and each time i saw them they brought on an exceptional show. Where can i purchase the dvd and tshirt?

wow a comparison to kiss!
thank you ...
when i was younger i was a huge kiss fan & i wanted to be in a rock n roll band [i play a mean air guitar] but being that i was just a kid my parents never took me to the concerts .so all i knew of the bands performance was that it bordered on the most amazing spectacle ever and if you ever saw it you were lucky . to this day as an adult it still holds up its magic to me and is a standard of which to follow .
so thanks for this compliment this is one that holds a lot of weight for me .
thanks again.
to heidee
your belief in us whether its tka/tkg/k7sk's/ kayel is something that through it all has helped us stay grounded you have stood by while we made names for ourselves supported us when we have made mistakes and have showed us the true meaning of friendship time and time again...hell with all these pretty words cats like tone myself angel george and the swing are better people to have been touched by the likes of you and your sister and we love you for it .

BIG BIG Thanks to all that made this night possiable. As Heidee mentioned, K7 and the Swing Kids brought the house down. It truely was a great show. Me being a really Big fan of K7 I was very happy to have witness this performance Great Job guys!! Chi-town always has mad love for you and the Swing kids, as i'm sure you witnessed for yourself on sat.

Heidee...I should have read this post before I wrote my own recap...my typing fingers is tired...and it took two parts to include all of my words...

K...you are the ultimate professional and friend...back in 1989 (or so), you said in an interview that I was a part of the TKA "family". I never took the words lightly-and apparently you haven't either. You were the one to really make it happen...Thanks for your passion for the Windy City-and for understanding the John Leguizamo theory...and for making me look good in front of the masses...and for getting my name broadcast on a competing radio station...and for conducting two interviews with the Club Kids...and for making them feel like a million bucks...and for introducing me to my future wife (oh-that hasn't happened yet)...

Harv

Recap: WCYC Reunion V with K7 and The Swing Kids...part one...

WCYC Reunion Concert V with K7 and the Swing Kids in Chicago-the recap…
Before I begin my recap of last night’s event, I have to apologize to those who were affected by my coming in late for the show. I was billed as the event host and I was caught up in treating my son and his mother to a John Leguizamo performance at the Chicago Theatre. The evening doubled as a birthday outing for my son’s mother and it made for a nice family reunion. A highlight of John Leguizamo’s performance was the fact that his opening music mix was a Freestyle mix featuring Coro, Judy Torres and many others-including “Maria” by TKA. Much respect to Leguizamo for supporting his fellow New Yorkers…

The long awaited return to Chicago of K7 and the Swing Kids finally hit the Windy City last night (2/28/04) as K7, LOS, Tre, and Prophet blew into Studio 63 with Tybless in tow to give Chicago’s Freestyle Phanatix a taste of what they had been missing for much too long. Since I was late in arriving, the boys (Men) were introduced by Studio 63 owner “Nick”, who did a credible job announcing the crew and stepping out of the way as the guys exploded onto the stage amidst a shrieking throb of over 900 (mostly ladies) in the house…by the way, I noticed PattyG of internet fame at the absolute foot of the stage throughout the performance. How do these fans constantly manage to get the best spots-show after show???

Heidee and her sister were also at the show busy helping K7 and the Kids to get the merchandise out to the masses. You’ll be happy to know that TKA/K7’s “The Best of Everything” can now be found in CD and DVD collections-in addition to a limited edition black t-shirt emblazoned with the K7 logo on the front and www.TKAK7.com on the back…WCYC mixilogist Gino “Rockin” Romo was also in the house, along with Majic Juan Suarez and former WCYC/WCRX radio personality VG Lozano. WCYC personality Denise Morales was also in attendance as was former Exotic Love group member Danny Lopez.

The guys opened the show with “Zunga Zeng”. I know this because that is the song that was playing as we pulled up into the Club. That was followed up by “I’ll Make You Feel Good” as I worked my way to a spot closer to the stage and began my video taping. Gino was at the DJ booth as I got even closer. I have to say thanks to the audience members and security team who graciously allowed me to move about rather easily. The place was packed and I could have stepped on a lot of toes along the way-but people recognized me and actually helped me to make my way on stage…what a great crowd!

K7 and the Kids broke into a chant and repeat session with the crowd which led them into “Scars of Love”. This routine included a quick dance lesson as the guys led the crowd into their “Right-forward, left-back” steps. “Tears May Fall” was next as the guys continued to impress with their tight choreography which they definitely had worked on for hours, days and perhaps weeks prior to the show.

“Give Your Love To Me” was next and it led into the first “break” of the evening. Kayel interacted with the crowd and reminded them of the last time that he was in town, he was with George Lamond and Tony O. He said that they are all still friends and still hang out and that he is now singing by himself with the Swing Kids. He asked the crowd if they liked the show so far, and he was met with a resoundingly loud approval rating. K7 then broke into an accapella version of “Don’t Be Afraid” (“because it was listed on the flyer, and you paid to hear it”). The rest of the Swing Kids took a short break while K7 performed a serenade of “Louder Than Love” to the awesome accompaniment of hundreds loudly singing along (on beat)!

After the accapella performances, K7 introduced the Swing Kids individually. First LOS, followed by Tre and then Prophet. During the course of the introductions, Tre spotted me at the rear of the stage and pointed me out to K7. They then motioned for me to come on stage where I blushed a bit, exchanged handshakes and hugs and was introduced as “the man who is responsible for bringing K7 and the Swing Kids back to Chicago”. After that quick bit of fame, I snick away and the boys told the crowd that they were “feeling a little freaky” and went into “Move It Like This”. This was a great sing along as I was a little surprised that the crowd new all of the words and did much of the singing to a microphone extended by K7…the most interesting thing that I caught on tape was the guys humping the floor during the song…and Tre getting spanked on the rear by two ladies who then high-fived each other. After “Move It Like This” the group got into another “chant and return” session with the audience before breaking into “Come Baby Come” which got a huge pop from the crowd. That seemingly was the last song of the set but…

Recap: Part two...

Tybless grabbed a house mic and encouraged the group to do “one more song for Chicago”. K7 and the Swing Kids then huddled on stage and polled the crowd as to what they wanted…they then took a moment to stretch out to a “ballet inspired” theme and then “BAM”…a few pelvic thrusts later…”Maria”!!!!!!! The crowd ate it up as K7, LOS, Tre and Prophet climbed all over the railings of the stage to induce the crowd into a frenzy before disappearing into the crowd…

The evening ended with an autograph session in which a long line was treated to autographed merchandise, photo opportunities and…a few body parts signed as well. I guess some of you don’t intend to shower again anytime soon…

Majic Juan, Nick, Cindy, Lyn, Miguel and maybe even myself and the audience should be commended for the great success of the event. K7 extended himself greatly leading up to the show as he conducted numerous radio interviews for WLUW and WCRX, was promoted by Frankie “Hollywood” Rodriguez on WCKG and was also featured in entertainment spots printed in the Midwest Suburban Publishing family of newspapers, thanks to Denise.

Well, number five is in the books…I ask that you all patiently await the upcoming news regarding the April event scheduled for Studio 63 (the Club formerly known as the Prime and Tender)…did I miss anything?
