This review that I got on my latest edit:

Every once in a while, something comes along that just seizes you by
surprise and shakes you to your very core and makes you feel like
you've just heard multi-editing for the first time. It's
like being
an "Edit Virgin" all over again. Remember the first time you
heard
edits and the way it made you feel? How it changed your life from
that moment on? How it created within you an obsession and an
addiction to hear more and more and MORE of those re-assembled beats
and cuts? WELL, the latest from our very own DJ Dayer had me
reliving my "first time" with such an intensity of lubricated
friction, I swear it was as if I was about to lose several layers of
skin!!!! What makes matters all the more notable is that DJ Dayer
made this edit-mix for me as a tribute!!!! I am absolutely humbled
like you can't imagine. The reality of having someone whom I
deeply
admire editing a record of my choice is like inheriting a huge sum of
money!!!! She really is such a Sweetheart.

I received an e-mail from her this past weekend in which she told me
what she wanted to do, and if I could suggest music for her to cut
and splice. I was out-of-my-mind with excitement!!!! I re-read the
letter over a few times just to make sure it wasn't really a
dream.
I couldn't wait!!!! But, I started to panic. Which record would
I
choose? I wanted it to be something that Dayer would like working on
and that had lots of potential for her to do her magic. I decided
almost immediately that it had to be "Stamp" by Jeremy Healy
& Amos.
This record, from a few years back, is an electro-breakbeat-acid-funk-
techno-house hybrid and has always been one of my favorites. I knew
that Dayer could (and would) do damage with this one, but nothing in
my wildest dreams could have prepared me for what she was about to
do. She went utterly ballistic on this cut. Talk about taking
creative license over something and SQUEEZING the extreme out of
it!!! DJ Dayer not only edits this to shreds, but she remixes it as
well. We've all heard of origami, the Japanese art of paper
folding
into decorative and representational structures! Well, in what I
like to call "Aural Origami" Dayer cuts, bends, folds, pulls,
pushes,
reshapes and remodels the sound design of the entire record. She
tears this into bits, manipulates sequences inside-out to outside-in
or in any matter she feels inspired to. We talk of DJ Dayer being
the "Princess of Edits" but in reality she is the "Queen
of Edits".
She reminds me of the Queen Bee [Queen Beat!] in a Honey Hive. She
has her "killer beats" and commands her worker bees and
drones to do
her every whim, while she makes the "Royal Jelly Edits" in
which she
feeds our thirsty ears! She has transformed this song into a hive of
busy excitement. It's as if she has woven a cocoon that contains
the
beats which are metamorphosing into rhythmic butterflies, beating
their sonic wings fast and furious in a state of controlled chaos.
Spin, Spin Sugar! Spin, Spin Sugar , I keep on thinking as Dawn
spins the sugary sonics of her massive edits. She turns this record
into a "Piñata of Percussion". Our Queen stabs at the
grooves with
her mighty scepter breaking forth tricked-out treats for our
ears'
consumption. Her edits are progressive, insanely danceable,
revolutionary and evolutionary!!!!

When this mix ended, I was euphoric, ecstatic and exhausted from all
the excitations I had just experienced. I fell down on my knees and
kissed my computer speakers ravenously. Thank goodness no one walked
in on me as I looked like I was giving a "Monica Lewinski" to
my
hardware!!! I felt like the Grinch when he discovered the true
meaning of Christmas; my heart swelled to ten times its normal size.
I am so fortunate to have had lavished on me this most incredible
remix. You have my overwhelming gratitude.

People, if you haven't yet discovered DJ Dayer, do so now. You
will
not regret doing so. Our Queen is holding court on
www.editzplanet.com. She is our "Goddess of Edits", so let
the
worship
begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
